Abstract/description of your session edit
I have organised gender gap editathons and diversity editathons in Kannada and Tulu Wikipedias. These were in-person events held during the period 2018 to 2020. All together 15 editathons were conducted. The main purpose of the editathons was to address diversity in Wikimedia projects pertaining to bridging gender gap, addressing the needs of people, inclusiveness for lesser known language Tulu, adding contents on diverse topics. Both women and men participated in the editathons. In this talk I would like to present my experiences of organising these editathons.
How does it connect with the WCI 2023 theme/focus edit
The topic very well matches with the theme of WCI 2023. By way of organising the in-person editathons, we were able to make editors come together, meet and exchange ideas, thus strengthening the bonds between them. Please refer the below links for more details.

- Those who are interested in organising similar programs will learn from my experience. Likewise, I will learn from the experiences of people who have done similar projects, who might be present in the audience, during interaction.
