==Proposal of WikiConference India 2020 in Hyderabad==
Dear all, I am posting this message on behalf of Wikimedians from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, who, as some of us might already know, have come forward to host WikiConference India 2020 in Hyderabad. A national conference will help us to connect from people from other communities, share knowledge, learn new stuff, and come closer to the Wiki-family. The last conference happened in 2016, and there was nothing for the past three years. Lack of such activities will make individual communities be disconnected from other communities, and this hampers the progress of Indian community as a whole. It is high time that we have the next conference as soon as possible. Since no one came forward in the last three years, and Hyderabad well-connected is all ways, I think this is a good opportunity to be supportive of.
But they would like to gather support from all the communities as a whole before proceeding, rather than just based on individual support, to be inclusive and add more credibility. So it would be good to have consensus among us to support the conference, and endorse it.
There is a Meta-Wiki page which clearly outlines the proposal and their plan, please have a look it at [[m:WikiConference India 2020: Initial conversations|here]]. Endorsements from other communities can be seen at [[WikiConference_India_2020:_Initial_conversations#Community_endorsements|this section]]. Please go through the page, and give your support in the section below, so that we can also be a part of this initiative. It would be great if our community endorses this at the earliest possible, so that the organisers can proceed to further steps without much delay, at the latest by 18 October 2019. This is to be in-line grant funding guidelines by December, which also require a community engagement survey to be done before developing the grant proposal in November. ~~~~
