Indian villages have hardly been documented on the internet.Even with lot of advancements and outreach of mobiles in villages the participation of people in the internet movement is very low. The information available on the national informatics center (NIC) can be used as a basis of research. The information available here is not visually represented well.
This discussion will focus on documenting the Indian villages with an intention of
1. Collecting the basic information about the village.
2. Collecting demographics and living standards of the village.
3. Collecting the unique arts and practices.(photos and video)
4. Identifying volunteers who will monitor the conditions of village in terms of health, education.
5. Any other information that would be good for research in future.
6. History of the villages.
This data can be used by government agencies, health organizations and other non profit organizations for better policy making and improve the standards of living by applying best practices.
