WikiAfrica hosted the week-long (5 day) #OpenAfrica15 - a Wikipedian in Residence training course - at the Goethe-Institut Johannesburg, South Africa.
Details of the training
editThe #OpenAfrica15 training is an introductory course for Wikipedians in Residence that took place from the 30th November to the 4th December 2015. The course was designed to support and expand the skill sets of existing Wikipedians across the continent. The delegates arrived with a batch of pre-course tasks, took part in the training. Then, once back in their home countries, each delegate decides for themselves which content-rich institutions they wish to engage with and how they wish to support and train local Wikipedians. Delegates were drawn from the following countries: Ethiopia, Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa. #OpenAfrica15 was conceptualised by WikiAfrica in partnership with the Goethe-Institut Johannesburg, and supported by Creative Commons South Africa.
