Abstract:
The journey of relicensing began with three books, driven by the author’s desire to preserve his Yakshagana works. Our digitization efforts inspired him to relicense 18 more books. Rather than restricting access to PDF versions, which reach a limited audience, we chose Wikisource as a more inclusive platform for preservation. Since many in our community were unfamiliar with Wikisource, we sought support from CIS-A2K for training on both Wikisource and Wikidata. With the help of dedicated volunteers for proofreading, we applied for a Tulu language Wikisource domain. |

How will this session be beneficial for the communities ?
I am confident that the journey from digitization to Wikisource is both engaging and inspiring for everyone. It's essential not to focus on just one aspect of editing; instead, we should select projects that keep our work exciting and meaningful. This will encourage greater participation from community members. Additionally, there are many tools and techniques that the community needs to learn and utilize. |
