Volunteer Support Germany-Austria-Switzerland/Training
This page is a translation of de:WP:Förderung/Trainings. It gives an overview of the support programs for volunteers residing in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and South Tyrol. The translation is for information purposes only. Addressed volunteers may use the original page. Last update: March 2019 |
If there is already a workshop that interests you, it usually suffices to register on the project page and, if required, to request that the costs be refunded by the Wikimedia organization in your country. Regarding requests for additional workshops or training, contact the Wikimedia organization of the country where you reside. The prerequisite for participation in workshops or training is regular and active participation in at least one Wikimedia project, which is normally determined based on the right to vote in de-Wikipedia. In addition, depending on the nature or topic of an event, it may be necessary to already have specific knowledge. Any additional requirements are typically indicated on the project page of the respective workshop. In the case of individually requested training, it is recommended to participate as a group. Besides a justified, anticipated benefit, it should also be ensured that the acquired knowledge is later transferred to the communities so that as many community members as possible benefit from the training.
You can find a list of former and current training offers here (German only) in the paragraph „Trainingsangebote“.

Please tell us and others about your experiences, for example on a subpage of your user page and link to it here (in German only). By doing so, you will on the one hand help the Wikimedia organizations to understand the benefits of the support initiative; on the other, your experiences can be helpful to others.
