VVIT WikiConnect is a student organization from Vasireddy Venkatadri Institute of Technology, located in the vicinity of Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India. It is a college-based club that has been established to promote the concept of Wikimedia movement i.e. the concept of free access to knowledge, among the students and staff of the college.

Coordinators of the association represent and act on behalf of the association in all dealings. Each coordinator shall perform the duties as designated and decided among. Each coordinator along with the Chief Organiser shall be responsible for getting the rapid grant from the Wikimedia Foundation, and in filing the report towards the end of the year. Any disputes between the members or problems that arise during the functioning of the group must be resolved by the coordinators.

Rules edit

  • Nominations can be made from 12:00 pm on 30 March 2019 to 12:00 pm on 31 March 2019.
  • The voting will take place during the Annual Meet of the club in 2019 i.e. on 30 April 2019
  • One candidate with the most number of the votes from IV Year and three from III Year (next academic year) will be selected as coordinators. If in case there aren't enough from III Year, another coordinator may be considered from IV Year.

for Candidates edit

  • Candidate should be an active member of the club, as listed on the members' page
  • Candidate should not have any active block on any Wikimedia project
  • If elected, they should abide by the by-laws and lead the club's activities from time to time, as guided by the immediate past coordinators.

for Voters edit

  • Candidate should not have any active block on any Wikimedia project
  • Each voter will have two votes cast in the following format {{s}} ~~~~
  • No oppose votes allowed. If anyone has any objections, they may discuss the same on the talk page.

  • What are your best contributions to Wikimedia projects till date and why do you want to become a coordinator?
    • I have contributed to Wikidata, English Wikipedia, Telugu Wikipedia and Wikimedia commons. I have published two Did you knows in English Wikipedia. I have participated in various campaigns of Wikimedia foundation conducted by VVIT WikiConnect. I like the concept of Jimmy Wales imagining a world in which every single person on the planet is given free access to the sum of all human knowledge. As a coordinator I would like to promote this concept among my college students and make my friends to take part in Wikimedia movement.

    • Some of my contributions are to Wikidata, English Wikipedia and I participated in edit-a-thons like Hockey edit-a-thon, WWWW etc. I want to become a coordinator because I want to create more awareness about Wikimedia projects in our college and community. Thereby encouraging students to participate in club activities and improve club performance.

    • I contribute to Wikipedia and Wikidata. I've also actively participated in Wiki awareness sessions , Wikipedia and Wikidata workshops and Edit-a-thons conducted in our college. I want to become a coordinator because I believe that I can continue what our seniors have done in a very amazing manner. I will give my hundred percent in things what in know and can do. I assure you that I will also increase my contribution to Wiki projects and also help my mates in contributing.

  • What are your best contributions to Wikimedia projects till date and why do you want to become a coordinator?
    • I made several contributions to SVG Translation Campaign 2019 in India in regional language Telugu.
    • I want to become a coordinator because I want to make this Wikimedia movement to reach to many students in the club. Since I am a regular contributor to some of the sister projects of Wikipedia, I can be able to handle campaigns held by the club.

    • I've been involved in edit-a-thons when the club was formed in 2017, photo walk where we've shot many photos of the ancient sculptures in Vijayawada and surrounding places. I also helped to dub the Wikimedia Tales video into Telugu. I'd like to be elected as the coordinator for 2019 because I like Wiki and I'll have better scope to contribute
