Hello. You are receiving this message because you are active in the field of translations <3 The movement needs you! The Nominations phase has started for the ongoing selection process of two Board members, and the timeline is quite tight.
A Translation Central is available to help translators figure out what's been covered and what's left to do. Over the course of the next few weeks, your attention on candidates' profiles is particularly welcome.
While there are four languages that are especially relevant for multiple affiliates (namely Arabic, French, Russian and Spanish), we are asking your help for Chinese, Ukrainian, Bengali, Czech, Hungarian, Romanian, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, Polish, Farsi, German, Cantonese, Finnish, Hindi, Thai, Dutch, and Greek, as these also matter to affiliates! If you can't help: please see if you know anyone in your circle who could, and spread the word :) Thank you! Elitre (WMF) and Facilitators of ASBS 2019, 21:35, 24 April 2019 (UTC)
love the quote on top of your userpageEdit
Hi Woman on a mission, I came to your page after noticing an unusual comment you made at a meta discussion (sorry I already forgot which one). I really like your Nietzsche quote and just verified that wikiquote already quoted it. cheers, Ottawahitech (talk) 17:49, 2 April 2020 (UTC)
- Hey @Ottawahitech:, yes I guess the comment might have been unusual. I'm an unusual person and I'm writing about an unusual topic right now. Nietzsche was far ahead of his time and so many prophecies of him about the new era have come true. So always good to have some quotes from him. And thank you for verifying it. I saw that you had a hard time on wp for a while with deletion sprees. Don't let that stifle your motivation.--Sparrow (麻雀) 🐧 09:17, 4 April 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, and thanks for pinging me. For some reason I did not get your ping, but luckily I decided to go through my recent user talkpage cmments just to see if I got responses. Most users don't ping me and I miss their reponse especially if it comes after I have already moved on. I wish there was an automatic mechanism here to inform us when somebody responds.
- Anyway, you have piqued my curiosity when you said you are an unusual person. I don't think there are many users nowadays who would dare say this publicly, which to me is a real shame. Being an oddball myself, I like reading pages of other oddballs. I find it fascinating. As far as your comment about my editing on enwiki, am afraid I am not permitted to talk about it on meta (see my talkpage if you are curious and have the time), but I thank you for noticing. When this COVID business is over, I look forward to learning more about Nietzsche, and discussing his quote in more detail. Cheers, Ottawahitech (talk) 02:02, 6 April 2020 (UTC)
Invitation to participate in Universal Code of Conduct survey - WikiWomen's User GroupEdit
(You are receiving this message as you signed your interest to participate as part of the WikiWomen's User Group)
Hello, my name is Mervat Salman, a UCoC Facilitator, Trust and Safety team.
As you know, the WMF Board of Trustees ratified the Universal Code of Conduct early in February. That's the beginning; the policy itself cannot be used if the enforcement pathways are not defined. The implementation and enforcement of the UCoC requires the continuous cooperation to define clear definitions of enforcement pathways and processes. This needs to be done in a way that does not contradict with the internal bylaws and codes of conduct currently in place, but rather to support them and complement their deficiencies, if any.
In this phase of the process, we would like to invite you to share your ideas, thoughts and concerns about the UCoC implementation, reporting and enforcement pathways using this survey:
Notice: This survey will be conducted via a third-party service, which may subject it to additional terms. For more information on privacy and data-handling, see the survey privacy statement <https://foundation.wikimedia.org/wiki/UCoC_Affiliates_Survey_Privacy_Statement>.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact firstname.lastname@example.org.

The Wikimedia LGBTQ+ User Group is holding online working days in May. If you’re an active Wikimedian, editing on LGBTQ+ issues or if you identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community, come help us set goals, develop our organisation and structures, consider how to respond to issues faced by Queer editors, and plan for the next 12 months.
We will be meeting online for 3 half-days, 14–16 May at 1400–1730 UTC. While our working language is English, we are looking to accommodate users who would prefer to participate in other languages, including translation facilities.
