ary.wikipedia global bots
Hi again, I've proposed global bots on ary.wikipedia and gotten this response: [1] It seems like they are okay with global bots but only in certain circumstances. Would this fall under "global bots (without policy)"? Rschen7754 19:34, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
- Hello @Rschen7754. Apologies for the late reply, I am having busy days. Looking at the local discussion I think the ary.wikipedia community does reject the Meta global bot policy and would prefer to have all bots to pass through the local approval process? The last statement on that page, that global bots are accepted on arywiki, as long as they only fix double redirects, or one of the errors in [this list] does not persuade me to add them to the "no policy" list considering the general opposition to adopt the global bot policy and the insistence to develop their own local policy. Erring in the side of caution, I'd list ary.wikipedia in the "proposal rejected" column. Feel free to consult with other stewards about this too as I'm likely going to be unavailable for some days. Apologies again for the late reply and for any inconvenience caused. Best regards, —MarcoAurelio (talk) 11:42, 30 October 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks, I agree that it is better to be cautious on this one and I've listed accordingly. --Rschen7754 23:39, 30 October 2022 (UTC)
