tw.wikipedia edit

Hello. tw.wikipedia.org is the Wikipedia for the Twi language spoken in Africa. However, users frequently add Chinese articles there because they confuse it with the Taiwanese Wikipedia (tw being a common abbreviation for Taiwan). I was wondering if you could formulate a warning notice in Chinese to tell people that tw.wikipedia.org is not the Taiwanese Wikipedia (and preferably point them to zh.wikipedia.org). -- Prince Kassad 12:34, 18 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

I see a Chinese news brief. I will take action.--Jusjih 18:02, 18 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
I have formulated a warning notices in both English and traditional Chinese. Thanks for your report.--Jusjih 23:14, 18 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Question regarding Wikisource (possible huge addition to it) edit

I was referred to you as a good one to contact regarding this. Someone from GovernmentDocs.org contacted us via OTRS (Ticket#: 2010030310058917 if you have access) indicating that that site was going to be shut down soon and they were looking for someplace for all their content to go. I immediately thought of Wikisource as a good possibility. Would you be willing to contact this person and work with them on the details of what this might entail? If so, please email me the contact information I can provide this person so this process can begin. Thanks! · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe 06:36, 4 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Provided their contents are source texts with copyright license compatible with Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License 3.0 and the GFDL, English Wikisource can host them. Just tell them to post their works on Wikisource with evidence of licensing, such as your provided OTRS ticket number.--Jusjih 03:13, 5 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

--Cloudcolors 03:09, 15 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Jusjih 03:55, 15 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Cloudcolors 07:55, 15 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Jusjih 01:23, 16 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Jusjih 03:06, 16 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Blocked on wikitionary for no apparent reason edit

I am a relatively long time wikipedia editor with reviewer and rollback rights with no knowledge of wikitionary. Recently, I made my first edit to wikitionary because I noticed that they included a word I didn't think existed. The word "despicability" does not feature in either the OED or the New Oxford American Dictionary and I have certainly never heard of it, or seen it used. On that note I tagged the page for deletion and left a note on the discussion page. For some absolutely ridiculous reason I was blocked for a period of one day by SemperBlotto. No reason, no warning, no explanation, nothing. And I can't even edit my talk page to appeal the block. Even if I had been wrong and if for some reason the OED and the NOAD had missed out this entry by mistake, surely there would at least have been a discussion or at most, and even this would be a step to far, a warning? As far as I am aware the noun for despicable is "despicableness". Regardless of whether I am right or wrong, I do not like being blocked unfairly and actually think that whoever this user Blotto is, he should get a telling off, and I am tempted to say "remove his admin rights". Admins don't behave like tyrannical fools. Maybe it was a mistake which I can understand but an explanation and an instant unblock are mandatory. I am appealing to you because you are an admin on wikitionary and furthermore a steward. I hope to hear from you soon. Jay-Sebastos 17:12, 19 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

After reviewing your edits, I saw no valid reasons to support your tagging for speedy deletion of the word "despicability". You could better tag it {{rfd}} to request non-speedy deletion by discussion. In the other hand, I do not see valid reasons per wikt:Wiktionary:Blocking policy for SemperBlotto to block you so fast. Simply ruling, you and that blocking admin both have had "wrong ways" that should be easily corrected. I am telling that blocking admin, who was blocked earlier, to think more carefully next time, but I cannot erase your block log.Jusjih 22:35, 19 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Transwiki edit

There a group of article at s:Wikisource:Proposed deletions#Anecdotes & Epigrams to transwiki to wikiquote and hopefully merge into q:Diogenes of Sinope, Following the directions at Help:Transwiki I have manually moved one in and documented at q:Talk:Diogenes of Sinope and q:Wikiquote:Transwiki log/Articles moved to here. I see that you have import tools to do the full move from wikisource to wikiquote, if you would like to move them all that would be great, if not I will continue with the manual move next week. Temporary sysop access - Devunt@kowikinews edit

Hello Jusjih. You gave here temp access to Devunt to expire on 2011-09-12, and the thread is listed at Steward_requests/Permissions/Approved_temporary as it will expire on 2011-09-11.

There should be a mistake somewhere, but I don't know what was your real decision. Thanks and have a good evening ! -- Quentinv57 (talk) 15:06, 25 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

I do not know how exactly 2011-09-11 was entered, but since I said till --09-12 and it is so listed at Steward_requests/Permissions/Approved_temporary, it will expire on --09-12.--Jusjih 15:16, 25 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
In fact, it was not listed so in the temp access pages (it was listed one year before), and that's why I sent you a message. But now I've moved it to 2012 [2], so that should be okay. -- Quentinv57 (talk) 16:21, 25 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

temp admin rights. edit

Hi, please notice to use {{systmp}} when granting temp admin access, to ensure successful auto-archive by bot. Matanya 07:58, 5 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Done adding the substituted template, but wouldn't that cause the second copied archive at Steward requests/Permissions/Approved temporary?--Jusjih 09:42, 5 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Hello Jusjih. I edited the template and made minor changes to your message here. The bot will archive the requests on Steward requests/Permissions/Approved temporary automatically, once this and this will be approved. Your opinion is welcomed too, ofc. Have a good evening. -- Quentinv57 (talk) 16:42, 5 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Copyright of proposed logos edit

You left notices on my talk page concerning problems with the copyright of a bunch of proposed logos used the last time Wikibooks discussed changing its logo. Do you happen to know what if any the common practice is for licensing logos that were uploaded for that purpose? --darklama 17:11, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Unfortunately no. When proposed logos are not formally accepted by Wikimedia, they would not be tagged Template:CopyrightByWikimedia. Those uploaded by 2006-12-29 might be eligible for Template:GFDL-presumed when reasonably able to presume in good faith, but those uploaded after that date, including yours, do not fit the presumption as Special:Upload warns that images without information about source, authorship and license will be deleted. If you did make these proposed logos by your own, please declare the ownership and the licensing to the image pages, then you may remove my notices to your talk page after the images are properly sourced and licensed. Thanks.--Jusjih 17:24, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
I figured CopyrightByWikimedia might not be appropriate for logos not formally accepted. Thanks for the information. --darklama 17:33, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Actually on second thought, some of those proposed logos are variations of the current Wikibooks logo. Do you think those can be tagged with CopyrightByWikimedia? --darklama 18:00, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Maybe yes per commons:Template:Copyright by Wikimedia.--Jusjih 18:22, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

I know that you cannot tell me the IP, but the checkuser is done only by checking the user's IP? If the user does not have a dynamic IP and changing? Here in Brazil there are some internet's plans that do not have dynamic IP. Web2365 02:50, 23 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
After submitting the result to the closed mailing list (CheckUser-l), any other checkuser who can determine any abuse will tell. I can answer you no more about this matter. CheckUser#Use_of_the_tool governs when the tool may or may not be used.--Jusjih 14:39, 23 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

talk about Removing bureaucrat and administrator flags: No more vote since 20th May. As of 21th June, 5 support removing, 2(including one adimin) opposing removing, 2(including one adimin) nullity. All of supporters are inactive user, whose contributions are under 20. One of opposer is admin(me). One of nullity is admin but his purpose is opposing. It has been almost 6 month since you have proposed the voting. Now, please judge the consensus. ØSalamander (Talk / Contributions) 23:12, 20 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

WaitWaitWait. When did meta remove Caffelice's adminship? WITHOUT ANY NOTIFICATION TO KOREAN WIKISOURCE?? Isn't this a neglecting ko wikisource community? Why and when did meta do that? ØSalamander (Talk / Contributions) 01:17, 21 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
There was no neglecting ko wikisource community, as the flags were already removed on 2013-01-08 [3]. The opposing votes were entered too late. As you have just 5 administrators, 2 being inactive after 2011, I recommend your wiki to get new bureaucrats only after you get much more administrator. Thanks.--Jusjih (talk) 04:36, 21 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
All of the users who support votes, except you, their contribution numbers are under 20 and active in ko wikipedia, not ko wikisource.
