Your feedback is requested edit

Hello Deepfriedokra, We are conducting a poll of global renamers and stewards regarding some future toolings related to some rename requests. Your feedback is requested at the poll on VRT WIKI. Best regards, — xaosflux Talk 00:18, 17 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Have you ever been set up on vrtwiki? — xaosflux Talk 02:42, 17 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
I don't think so . . . . . --Deepfriedokra (talk) 10:18, 17 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Oh, can you unblock me on en-wiki? I appear to have met all requirements for unblocking. Power Hacks (discussion) (contributions) 11:52, 3 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Power Hacks: I'm afraid this is not correct. You have had plenty of time to make at least five hundred problem-free edits over at lease six months on any other project, and have not done so. In fact, you are blocked on a couple. Also, you have not concisely and clearly described how your edits merited a block (apart from the sock puppetry) and described what you would do different. Best, --Deepfriedokra (talk) 21:40, 4 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Deepfriedokra How long until I am unblocked? Power Hacks (discussion) (contributions) 12:47, 5 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
After you have fulfilled the requirements for least five hundred problem-free edits over at lease six months on any other project, and successfully address the reasons for your block. Via UTRS. This not the venue. Thanks --Deepfriedokra (talk) 15:08, 5 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Please don't email me. Unblock discussions should be in the open and not via email. Thanks --Deepfriedokra (talk) 15:09, 5 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

UTRS says I'm banned edit

Hello,

When I tried to use WP:UTRS today, for some reason, it gave me this message:

Your IP address or username has been banned from using UTRS. The banning administrator specified the following reason: "Abuse/exploitation of UTRS Software". If you contact UTRS admininstrators about this ban, please mention the following ban ID: #643.

I may have been blocked from using UTRS in the past, but it was never for more than six months at a time, and the last time I got blocked from UTRS was about a year ago. Can you please tell me what's going on? Shāntián Tàiláng (talk) 20:24, 13 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Shāntián Tàiláng: When I tried to look, I was told that I was forbidden. (When I click on individual UTRS ticket links, it says EN:WP:Oversight.) You are check user blocked, so UTRS would not be the place to request unblocking. You would need to e-mail the ENWIKI Arbitration Committee at arbcom-en wikimedia.org. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 00:15, 14 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
"You are check user blocked, so UTRS would not be the place to request unblocking."
That's odd, because being CheckUser-blocked alone didn't prevent me from using UTRS in the past. (Anyway, that CheckUser part of the blocking is over seven months out of date, just ask TonyBallioni about it.) Shāntián Tàiláng (talk) 19:12, 14 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
The block log shows checkuser block. As I cannot access your UTRS ban, I cannot remove it. Since I cannot access your UTRS tickets, I cannot look at them. Looks like there is nothing I can do.
As for Tony, the block shows " 2022-07-29T16:55:00 TonyBallioni talk contribs block changed block settings for Shāntián Tàiláng talk contribs with an expiration time of indefinite (account creation blocked, email disabled, cannot edit own talk page) (Template:Checkuserblock-account: long-term inability to stop litigating en.wiktionary disputes here, after multiple, multiple warnings to stop. as promised, talk page access and email access also removed.) (unblock | change block)." He certainly did not remove the checkuser block.
Looks like there is nothing I can do. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 19:59, 14 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
And, as it has all been oversighted, your best bet is again/stillto email ArbCom. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 20:02, 14 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
As requested, I reviewed the reason for the UTRS ban, and the UTRS ban will stand at this time and is not because of onwiki conduct, but as the reason notes abuse of UTRS itself. Should you wish to appeal, you would need to ask for access to your talkpage back or have ArbCom review. -- Amanda (she/her) 02:10, 15 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Shāntián Tàiláng: And the admin who removed talk page access was @Floquenbeam:, and would be the person to ask about that. There is now a new process for appealing checkuser blocks. You may email the English Wikipedia checkuser VRT queue at checkuser-en-wp@wikipedia.org. Best. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 05:41, 15 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Just FYI. I will never agree to restoration of talk page access, and will never agree with an unblock (if either happen without my OK, then so be it; but I don't want to discuss anymore). This person is fundamentally incapable of collaborative editing, and has taken up hours and hours of volunteer time. I'd suggest blocking from UTRS for approx 25 year. Seriously. I don't mean this in a reproachful way, DFO, but just in a friend-to-friend request way: please don't ping me about this particular editor again. Floquenbeam (talk) 14:55, 15 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
The forms have been obeyed! (Can't say I disagree.) --Deepfriedokra (talk) 15:34, 15 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Why on Earth am I "fundamentally incapable of collaborative editing"?? I mean, if you look at my contributions on Commons and Wikisource, then they're very constructive.

Also, AmandaNP, when exactly were the "abuse of UTRS" reasoning (for UTRS blocks in general, not specifically my UTRS block) and the "new process for appealing checkuser blocks" put into place? Somehow I get the feeling that one or both of them is being used as an ex post facto law here.

And I haven't even interacted with Floquenbeam in almost a year now--why does he appear to hate me so much?? Those "hours and hours of volunteer time" I took up from him were months ago, and they are nothing compared to the 19 months I've been blocked from WP and WT. It surely seems to me that he is nursing an old grudge....¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Shāntián Tàiláng (talk) 19:54, 19 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Oh, please. To request unblocking, please follow the instructions above for contacting the check users. To have a conversation with other users, please use their talk pages. Good day. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 20:17, 19 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
The new process for the contacting checkusers. On Talk:UTRS. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 20:29, 19 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
I think you are conflating three separate issues. 1) Checkuser block was for sock puppetry proven by a check user. 2)Your original block on ENWIKI and talk page access removal was for, "long-term inability to stop litigating en.wiktionary disputes here, after multiple, multiple warnings to stop. as promised, talk page access and email access also removed." 3) UTRS ban is for something you did on UTRS. As your talk page and UTRS are not available, you need to contact the checkusers for that part, because ArbCom no longer handles checkuser blocks accept in extreme case.
I think it is great that you are contributing constructively elsewhere. Unfortunately, that was not what you did on ENWIKI. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 21:02, 19 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
TBH, I would like to write on Floquenbeam's talkpage here, but I'm quite worried that he will think of me as a cross-wiki pesterer as Surjection already does.
And about EN.wiki: who says I want to continue the misbehavior I previously did there? (Sometimes I wonder why I was not simply given an indefinite partial block from the "User talk" namespace there.)
Besides I'll write directly to arbcom-en@wikimedia.org when I get a chance (I can't do so right now, for reasons that are too complicated to explain).
But first: who should I contact for the CheckUser block? Would that be TonyBallioni or someone similar? Shāntián Tàiláng (talk) 15:34, 20 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
I would not ask Floq. You can email the English Wikipedia checkuser VRT queue at checkuser-en-wp wikipedia.org. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 00:34, 21 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
