Hi, nice project. Wikimedia DC could be your fiscal sponsor. Slowking4 (talk) 13:28, 4 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Slowking4: I have never applied for a grant before. Can you tell me more about how this works? How does sponsorship work? Coffeeandcrumbs (talk) 14:01, 4 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
BTW, I live in the DC area. Coffeeandcrumbs (talk) 14:02, 4 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
well, it is the triumph of hope over experience. (but worth a try) WMF has pulled back from funding individual development grants. there is a long history of grants for chapters and conferences. we have typically found it easier to get grants from other foundations. Wikimedia DC is active working with library of congress. library of congress leads the way in digitizing their holdings, and relies on grants from others to supplement this effort. WMDC has meetups every month; next week is Air and Space, and National Gallery on Nov 16. https://wikimediadc.org/wiki/Upcoming_events#October_8 come by and hang out. @Slowking4: from the events page, what I see are edit-a-thons. I am not interested in that. Does the DC chapter have real access to the LOC?Coffeeandcrumbs (talk) 23:38, 18 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
the LOC is an open sptawling place. at a recent meetup, we got access to the hispanic division head [1] you can go get a library card, get a shelf pull, and scan books. but it would require some initiative. Slowking4 (talk) 11:46, 25 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
