2018

The first offline event I attended was Wikicamp 2018, and it was an experience I'll always cherish. It was my first opportunity to meet other Wikipedians in person, and connecting with the community in real life felt entirely different and incredibly rewarding. For the first time, I got to hear the stories of how others began their journey in editing and creating articles, and it was fascinating to see the variety of perspectives and motivations that brought people to Wikipedia.

What excited me the most, though, was learning about the admin tools. I was curious to see how administrators handled their responsibilities and managed the platform's many functions behind the scenes. The discussions and workshops on these topics were incredibly insightful and left me eager to learn even more. This event not only deepened my knowledge but also strengthened my connection to the Wikimedia community, leaving me inspired to contribute more meaningfully.

2019

This was the first event I attended as an administrator, and it marked a significant milestone in my journey within the Wikimedia community. Stepping into this role brought a mix of excitement and responsibility, and this event gave me the perfect platform to engage with others in a new capacity. One of the highlights was meeting the former steward, @Mardetanha, in person. It was an inspiring moment to connect with someone so experienced and respected in the community. We had the chance to discuss various aspects of Wikimedia, share insights, and learn from each other's experiences. It felt both humbling and motivating to be surrounded by such knowledgeable and passionate individuals.

2023

August

I just got back from military service :) After being away for almost two years, I hadn't had the chance to connect with other Wikipedians during that time, and I missed being part of the community. Reuniting with everyone was such a refreshing and heartwarming experience. It felt great to catch up with familiar faces, share stories from the past couple of years, and dive back into the collaborative spirit that makes the Wikipedia community so special. This was also a good experience in itself—a reminder of how meaningful it is to be surrounded by like-minded people who share the same passion for knowledge and learning.

December

It was the first camp where I truly discovered my passion for organizing. For the first time, I stepped out of my comfort zone and got involved with the organizing committee, helping them with various tasks and contributing to the event's success. This experience sparked a newfound interest in planning and coordination, and I loved the sense of purpose it gave me. Amid all the activities, teamwork, and shared moments, I found myself drawn to someone in a way I hadn't experienced before. It was a camp full of learning, laughter, and emotions I'll never forget. Ah, and it was the first and only camp where I fell in love with someone. 🫢

2024

The first camp where I was on the organizing committee was truly unforgettable. It was an incredible experience, and I can confidently say it was one of the best I've ever had. Being part of the team gave me the opportunity to learn about organizing events, teach people about Wikipedia, and share my knowledge in a way that felt deeply rewarding. I also got to meet amazing new people, form lasting friendships, and work closely with a diverse group of participants and fellow organizers. Of course, the journey wasn't without its challenges—there were unexpected problems to solve, last-minute changes to adapt to, and moments that tested my patience and creativity. But overcoming those obstacles only made the experience more fulfilling and memorable.
