This page is intended to gather information about the possibility that Cupco is a sockpuppet of Dualus and Nrcprm2026.

[1], [2] – Cupco is 71.212.247.3. According to WHOIS information, that IP address belongs to Qwest in Denver, Colorado.

Birth control edit

Cupco is a relatively new account. The account was created in late August 2012. Early on, Cupco contributed heavily to en:Birth_control. Cupco's first revision to his or her user talk page hints at Cupco formerly being an anonymous (IP address) user. Which anonymous user? Let's start by examining the anonymous contributors to en:Birth_control from before August 28th:

70.59.11.32 – Qwest, Reference desk.
75.166.200.250 – Qwest, Reference desk.

Both IP addresses belong to Qwest. Both participated in en:Talk:Birth_control. Both contribute to enwiki's Reference desk. Now, compare these IP addresses to Cupco. They look very similar, don't they?

Due to 71.212.249.178's and 75.166.200.250's partition on Meta and on Jimbo's talk page, it's pretty clear that this person's history extends beyond July 2012.

Let's take a look at the history of en:Emergency_Economic_Stabilization_Act_of_2008. Notice the edit war. Notice 71.212.249.178 (mentioned in #Birth_control). Let's examine the IP addresses that involved in the edit war, including 71.212.249.178:

One of Dualus' recent confirmed sockpuppets is Npmay:

The "Cupco" account was created a couple of days after Npmay, 75.166.207.214, and 71.212.250.193 were blocked ([3], [4], [5]).

tl;dr: Cupco = 70.59... / 71.212... / 75.166... = Npmay = Dualus.

Tiptoety blocked an IP address in the 70.59... range with "{{checkuserblock}}" as the block's summary. That is a Qwest IP address. Tiptoety blocked 70.59.31.70 around the same time he blocked Weltoners and 85.230.127.113. I believe that Tiptoety did this becuase he used the CheckUser tool on Weltoners, and the results shows that 70.59.31.70 and 85.230.127.113 were two of Weltoners' IP addresses. More information about 70.59.31.70 can be found at en:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/70.59.31.70/Archive.

70.59.31.70 was involved in en:Talk:Clothianidin, and so was Npmay (see #Npmay).

It should be pretty clear by now that Cupco, Npmay, and Weltoners are the same person. Npmay was blocked as a sockpuppet of Dualus, and Weltoners was blocked as a sockpuppet of Nrcprm2026. A few people at en:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Dualus/Archive#03_August_2012 claim that Dualus and Nrcprm2026 are the same person. I now believe that to be the case as well. Cupco is the lastest in a long line of sockpuppets.
