Hello Lar, welcome to the Foundation wiki.

Hello and welcome!

edit Welcome to the Wikimedia Foundation website.

Thanks for being here! This wiki does not exactly follow the same rules as the other Wikimedia projects, since it is not open to all for editing, and in case of disagreement, the organ of decision will be the Board. A rule of thumb however is that if we gave you access, that means we trust you. So please, do not be shy in editing this site. There is ample work for everyone :-)

  • YOUR CURRENT PASSWORD MAY BE HORRIBLY WEAK. Please change it as soon as possible. Your authentification of email address will be very appreciated.
  • To the basic on that wiki, please see Wikimedia:Welcome.

  • Requests for deletions are expected to go to the page above. For uncontroversial requests, you may use Template:Deleteme instead.
  • Contents are in responsibility of Promocom, not the community decision. If you have a question, suggestion or proposals, feel free submit your question to feedback page. Radical changes are expected to be discussed and/or drafted on another wiki beforehand.
  • If you update the wiki page significantly, please don't forget to update its meta version; normally all pages have their equivalent on meta (partly as subpage as Translation requests/WMF and partly under the same filename - this current system will be radically changed fyi). This synch would help other language editors and avoid the inconsistency in site contents.
  • If you have difficulty to find meta versions, you can list your update as "new translation request" on meta:Talk:Translation requests.
  • The Last but not the least - you hare there since you are trusted. Be bold and nice, happy editing!

(As you noted, this email could be merged into Wikimedia:Welcome. Thank you for your feedbacking cleanup in advance ...  :)

- The need for decorum and civility in all conversations there. This Wiki is the most official "face of the foundation" wiki there is. - processes for discussion of issues and proposed changes (talk off wiki vs talk on talk pages etc..) - What one's user page ought to look like ? - Standard templates and processes that are of use.
