1.      How did you reach Turkish Wikipedia? I had received an invitaion e-mail  to contribute  Wikipedia Information Association of Turkey. That’s how i started to contribute Turkish Wikipedia

2. Why did you decide you must contribute to Turkish wikipedia? I thought i could be helpful to people by sharing knowledge.

3. What is the primary difference you find in the editing cultures on Turkish and any other Wikipedia that you are aware of

4. How do you find fellow editors? Are there conflicts? I make lots of typing errors and i am happy that fellow editors correct them. I also become a happy if a fellow editor sends a thank you note for my contribution.   I write about biographies and sometimes there are conflicts about ethnic descents of people. I find such conflicts ridiculous and usually do not involve and just wait. Since people have mixed ethnic origins, most of the time, all sides are right. If i can,  i simply add detailed information about the origin of  the person and provide lots of references.

5. Indian Wikipedians joined hands for various editathons such as http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Lilavati's_Daughters_Edit-a-thon. Has there been such other special editathons on Turkish Wikipedia? I am not aware of such projects.

6. Where are most of the Turkish Wikipedians located (the specific part of Turkey / TRNC / Bulgaria, etc)? I belive most Turkish wikipedians are located at Istanbul, the biggest city.

7. Have you attended or organized Turkish Wikipedia community meet-ups? No.

8. Are there any institutions that are either promoting or likely to promote Turkish Wikipedia? No

9. What has been your experience in adding content on specific topics? I like contributing on

10. Can discuss any special experience which took most of your effort but resulted in immense happiness? I have a kind of funny experience. Some years ago I was writing articles about amateur Turkish sailors who circumnavigate the globe. I think,  i have failed providing references in details  so  one day i’ve recevied a message from one of those sailors asking how i could  write  so much infromation about his life and his voyages, He wanted to learn whether i am a childhood friend of him . He wrote me that he thought only someone personally knows him could write such article. Actually I had only searched newspaper archives and compiled information from the interviews he had made. I was happy because i have seen it as a proof that i had a well-written article. He sent me a photo from his voyages to use in the article

. 11. Can you share any experience of collaboration with a fellow Turkish Wikipedian?

12. How are the technical challenges/issues been for your language?

13. Now is it easy for a new user to start contributing on wikipedia easily?

14. How about interface translation (system messages) and other things?

15. Are there any non-native contributors (e.g. Arabs/ Kurds/ Armenians / Americans) on Turkish Wikipedia? Of course there are Kurdish, Bosnian, Macedon,Georgian, Azerbaijani contributors…

16. In addition to Turkish Wikipedia, do you plan to contribute to any other language Wikipedia? I could contribute to English wikipedia.

17. What is your view about the stub class articles on Turkish Wikipedia? At the begining i was working on creating new articles, now i work more on existing articles that needs the be developed. I believe there is no meaning having an article which does not have good quality article in it…

18. Does Turkish Wikipedia in general adhere to the Neutral Point of View (NPOV) rule? Have you contributed to other Wikimedia projects such as Turkish Wiktionary, Wikibooks, Wikiquote and Wikisource? If so, what has been your experience? No. Very recently  i’ve learned about how to contribute Turkish Wiktionary, but i think those who have a special interest in linguistics should work on it.

19. Could you share any and all ideas - small or big, successful & not-so-successful - that you think can help drive Turkish and other language projects? I have a sister who is teaching pschology at local university. I offered her to ask her graduate level students create wikipedia articles on theories/subjects they are working on as homework. I belive it worked well. There were almost no article on social pscyhology theories on Turkish wikipedia, now a few good quality articles have been created  They did a good job to get a good grade.

20. Could you give us a personal introduction of yourself (with username)? Also, can you provide the link of any notewothy article you’ve written as well as any user image you’ve uploaded on Wikimedia Commons? Teşekkür ederim. –
