Career goals

edit

I am actively seeking a full-time position in the open-source domain.

Background

edit

My academic focus is in Computer Science. Throughout my studies, I obtained a solid background in areas such as:

  • Functional Programming (Haskell, ML),
  • Formal Languages,
  • Type Theory (Typed Lambda Calculus, Coq proof assistant),
  • Group and Category Theory.

I'm also a Teacher Assistant at National University of Rosario in the Computer Science department. I have been working in subjects like Logic, Programming, Probability and Statistics, Mathematics Complements, and Data Bases.

Previous experience

edit

Despite my academic emphasis on the functional paradigm, my work experience was more related to web programming (specifically in the backend side of things). Key experiences include:

  • Startup roles involving Django and Laravel frameworks.
  • Research internship at the IMDEA Software Institute (Spain) focusing on blockchain-related topics using Golang.
  • IT consulting with expertise in the Elastic Stack.
  • Currently engaged in an Outreachy internship at Wikimedia, contributing to Ruby on Rails development.

These experiences gave me the autonomy to work in different programming languages and environments, as well as to organize and plan short or medium term projects.

Through my tenure in the Wikimedia internship, I immersed myself in the realm of free software, unveiling a community distinguished by its collaborative spirit. This experience sparked my enthusiasm, and I am eager to sustain my involvement in this community.

Next career step

edit

I'm currently looking for a full-time job as a Software Engineer within the open-source community.

I'm based in Argentina (where I was born), and I'm open to both on-site and remote positions. For on-site roles, I'm flexible and willing to relocate if required.

I'm available to start work from April, 2024.

While Spanish is my native language, I possess professional working proficiency in English.
