Request on Meta edit
- On June 4, 2005, on Requests for new languages an anonymous IP made a proposal for Sorbian [1] which finally ended up with 22 support votes and 1 oppose vote [2] (discussion)
Preliminary work edit
- Since mid of june 2005 I worked a little bit in my own private lab on a Main page (User:Dundak/Hłowna strona), and tried to find some fellow contributors on some sorbian websites and forums.
- My intention was to start with one Wikipedia in both Upper and Lower Sorbian and to split later to bundle forces, but several users were against this and decided to work on two separate Wikipedias (cf. Special:Undelete/Test-WP/wen and its history), so on
First articles edit
December 2005/January 2006 first contributors showed up: Nepl – a native speaker – and Zak – a native speaker – , we got also help from some Czech speaking contributors like User:Reo On and User:Dezidor - we appreciated this very much!
Bug request on Mediazilla edit
On April 22, 2006 I filed a bug request on Mediazilla [5] asking for the setup of Hsb and Dsb
What I did in the meantime edit
Between end of May and August 3, 2006 I worked a lot in Betawiki to translate the Upper Sorbian User interface [6], which took me a lot of time, so I was not able to contribute to the Sorbian Wikipedias.

Upper Sorbian edit
Creation of hsb.wikipedia.org edit
On October 1, 2006, the Wikipedia in Upper Sorbian finally was created. Lower Sorbian was not, because users voted initially on only one Wikipedia.
