Welcome to my user page. Sit back and make yourself comfortable — would you like sugar or honey in your tea?
My civic name is Denis Smajlović. I hope to be able to make contributions to the Serbo-Croatian Wikipedia, as I think it is important to have a high-quality, trusted source of information. People in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Montenegro currently do not have this.
I was born and raised in Copenhagen, after my parents fled the war in Yugoslavia. I speak Serbo-Croatian natively and use my insight to coordinate efforts to unite hr, bs, sr, and sh, as these are all written in the same language.
Come say hi
editI've had the pleasure of participating in multiple in-person Wikimedia gatherings, including the CEE Meeting 2023 in Tbilisi and the CEE Youth Meeting 2023 in Prague. I put an effort into being able to participate in these events in order to meet new Wikimedians and expand my network within the community. I strongly feel that this is the most effective way to overcome some of the greater obstacles that we are facing in our work and thereby push our encyclopaedic values forward.
Achievements
editI am proud of having helped with, and succeeded at, the following:
- Getting Aca's language converter for sh.wiki over the finish line
- Founding the Cross-Project Collaboration Initiative
- Facilitated the contact necessary to give Winston Sung +2 rights
Contact
editFeel free to send me an email, or preferably use Discord ("denissmajlovic") or IRC ("imdeni") as these allow for synchronous communication.
