My name is the same as my username.

I've retired early and come to live in rural France after working as a schoolteacher and then as a software engineer in Britain. My teaching speciality was mathematics.

For a long time (since before the internet took off!), I've had the dream of effective technology being used to improve education worldwide. I think the Wiki approach has a good chance of providing something quite wonderful if we can collectively get down to the task. Hence my interest in Wikijunior.

I've made an entry in http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikijunior/Interested_participants

I've put some thoughts and ideas on the development of Wikijunior here.

I've started a development area here, but it's just a placeholder at the moment.

I'm very new to Wikimedia, and I'm just starting to find my way around. I'd appreciate any pointers from anyone about how I can pursue my aims. Thanks
