Ethical guidelines in Central Kurdish Wikipedia edit

Is UCoC make users more comfortable across all Wikimedia Projects? A- Yes 100% | B- No 0%

From the beginning of its foundation, Central Kurdish Wiki started to translate user guidelines and policy from English Wikipedia, we have already translated most of the guidelines, however we may not have updated them or translated all the contents. English Wiki guidelines are somehow hard to apply in small wiki but we got benefit from those rules which makes our wiki contents better in term of applying copyright rules, putting resources and more. Regarding ethical guidelines as we mentioned we depend on English wiki and our own guidelines to solve internal issues between users. Till now those rules helped us to protect our community and make our users comfortable. Further more, in our survey, we asked our users "Do existing guidelines make you comfortable to participate in Central Kurdish Wiki ? “, 83% of them said yes.

Users's comments edit

To inform our community we introduced the topic on Village pump and also shared it on our Facebook group, we asked them to share their opinion and write their comments in Village pump, Facebook group, also via email. Here are community's comments on UCoC:

  • User "Aram": I will support UCoC and I belive it will be beneficial for Wiki.
  • User "Sarchia": One thing that makes huge conflict between Central Kurdish users is our language since Kurdish language affected by geographical areas, sometimes it makes issues between users on article title and even talking on the page doesn't help to solve the issue. If there is something to solve such an issue in Universal Code of Conduct it will helpful for us to solve that issue.
  • User "Pirehelokan": Our wiki is small and we haven't had too much issue between users, we faced some issues but we solved them. We need to write more articles/contents rather than guidelines. I was uncomfortable when I contribute in huge wikis like English, Arabic and Persian.
