Training and Edit-a-thon at the Wikimedia Fan Club Unilorin

The Wikimedia Fan Club Unilorin held a two-day training and edit-a-thon in September 2021.

Event Details

Day 1

• Date - Friday, 17th September 2021
• Time - 4:00pm - 6:00pm
• Venue - Bukatee, University of Ilorin Main Campus, Ilorin, Kwara State.

Day 2

• Date - Saturday, 18th September 2021
• Time - 11:00am - 2:00pm
• Venue - Food City, University of Ilorin Main Campus, Ilorin, Kwara State.

Activities

For the first day, new editors were assigned to experienced editors who took them through the basics of editing Wikipedia. Returning editors worked on new articles, continued work on articles they already started and updated their talk-pages.

For the second day, participants continued to work on articles they started on the first day. Some of the participants focused on general copy editing.
