We wish to be partners in crime!

AvoinGLAM has organized the Hack4OpenGLAM hackathon two times now in the context of the Creative Commons Global Online Summit. The work in this global online hack event is intended to cross sector/discipline/network silos in GLAM, drawing on our experience in arranging Hack4FI GLAM hackathons locally in Finland, and now bringing communities together with the global online Hack4OpenGLAM hackathons. We are inviting participants from Wikimedia, Creative Commons and Mozilla networks, as well GLAM professionals and GLAM advocates through other international networks.

Our capacity is however limited and we would like to contribute to a broader collaborative effort that brings together ideas and opportunities from different edges of the open movement, GLAM (which we would like to interpret as Global Languages, Art & Memory), and beyond. – Susanna Ånäs (Susannaanas) 🦜 20:41, 6 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Dear (Susannaanas),
Apologies for my late reply! And thank you for reaching out to me. Your work and endeavours look quite interesting. I would like to learn about it and better understand how this is (already) embedded within the existing movement-wide structure for GLAM, what is missing from your perspective and how we can find synergies. AvoinGLAM is indeed low on resources (though now with a bigger grant) but using it to maximize efforts in events and has a lot of visibility in related networks...if a part of a larger effort for sustained innovation I think it would be great in-and-around movement version that does more than 2-3 'hack' events a year. --Zblace (talk) 06:28, 4 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
