Preferred Airports

edit

For the airport shuttles (if provided), is there a "preferred" airport?

Just looking at flights, ~£120 EasyJet to Schoenefeld, Tegel is £55 more or so.. Granted, Tegel is closer

Preferred is where most people arrive - but we don't know that in advance :) Book the cheaper option or (if you pay yourself) whatever works best for you. We'll see if shuttle/pickup works out. We can't promise that anyway. -- Duesentrieb 21:10, 6 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
Heh. Fair enough. As it stands I'll be paying for myself (just about afford it). Might see if I can get some funding help.. We shall see... Reedy 21:22, 6 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
Although Schönefeld is father out, it does have S-Bahn and RegionalBahn trains straight to the city center, while from Tegel you'd have to take a bus then change onto the S-Bahn/U-Bahn system. I don't know exactly what the travel times are from either, maybe this could be included in the venue announcement (which I hear should be made very soon)? --Catrope 23:40, 6 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
Right, should have though of mentioning that. Tegel is only accessibly by Bus, Schönefeld by Bus, S-Bahn or regional train. Note that the airport buses are a bit more expensive than regular public transport. Which airport is faster to reach really depends on where in Berlin you are. Without giving away too much, I looks like it's about the same to the place we will most likely be: 30-45 minutes, depending on luck. -- Duesentrieb 12:59, 7 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Attendance list

edit

Can we start an on wiki attendance list?

As unless i've missed something, the list isn't viewable...

Thanks

there is no official public participant list, and there will not be until after the conference, and it will not be complete. Some people are very much concerned about their privacy.
However, feel free to invite people to add themselves to a list on the workshop page. No problem there :) -- Daniel Kinzler (WMDE) 15:55, 8 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
That's more what I was meaning, heh. Will start one Reedy 16:56, 8 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

New poster?

edit

We always throw up the sign from the 2004 developer conference whenever we're planning a new one. Perhaps it's time to make a new poster? The community is much larger nowadays. ^demon 13:50, 23 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Sounds like a good idea (if someone feels like organizing it ;)) --Church of emacs talk · contrib 09:45, 24 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Perhaps I bring the old poster or a colour copy and the newbies can add their signatures. --Wikinaut 14:01, 24 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
