Talk:Wikilingo
The proposal seems okay. If this proposal succeeds, I could definitely help with the French lessons. Sr13 07:49, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
- Isn't Wikibooks for stuff like this? Someoneinmyheadbutit'snotme 19:45, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
We already have this project, it is called Wikibooks. No reason to separate language learning into another project. (It would be like creating a separate Wikipedia for linguistics.) Jon Harald Søby 22:19, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
- Wikibooks has already many language lessons: see b:Category:Languages on en:wikibooks, b:de:Kategorie:Sprachen on de:wikibooks etc. HenkvD 18:04, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
- Huh...Wikibooks already does have this project. I completely dismissed that. We can consider this "rejected?" Sr13 09:25, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
- This would also come under the scope of Wikiversity (and is already being done), I think this should be rejected. Lcarsdata 18:19, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
- I agree, the purposes of a project like this are already covered by Wikibooks and Wikiversity. --Massimiliano L. 15:30, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
I would prefer the name Wikilingua. Lingo is not as professional and in English does not specifically refer to languages but rather slang and jargon e.g. "learn the lingo". Lingua is Latin for language, and carries a more professional air.
This project is subsumed by Wikibooks and Wikiversity. However it was still a nice idea. If the proposer can think of something unique that the other two can't do... --86.5.99.65 22:16, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
This is already covered by Wikibooks --Yair rand 15:52, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
