Maybe we can use this page to communicate better about the project. --Julian Rodriguez Orihuela 19:02, 31 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Requested Additional Features of WikiCalendar

edit
1. Support for national calendar systems (Hebrew, Julian, Muslim etc).
1.1 Scripts for automatically translating one calendar system to another, so that it is enough to enter in one system. (This exists for the Hebrew calendar, to give today's Hebrew date)
1.2 Templates to show dates in various systems.

2. Calendar Views (skins) and Calendar Category Filters:
2.1 Any user can choose which view to show as default, and can change between calendar views.
Thus viewing week, day, month, year time-line, with/out data sidebar, with/out tasks etc.
There can be page sections to show these parts. (right, top, middle, bottom...)
2.2 Category filter templates such as "World War I History" or "Bart Simpson's Family", these filtering categories should themselves be in a hierarchy of category types.

3. Public, Group and Private entry support
3.1 Private: An entry can be marked as private, so that users can manage their own diary/calendar, or choose to share it with others.
3.2 Group: A calendar entry could be marked with groups, so that user's may share calendar information within groups.
3.3 Public: A calendar entry which is available to all public.

4. Other templates:
  • Calendar_Template:All day event.
  • Calendar_Template:Task
  • Calendar_Template:Future
  • Calendar_Template:Tentative
  • Calendar_Template:Possible Date (list of possible dates or date range)
  • Calendar_Template:Questionable - Please help in confirming this event or pointing to its correct date
  • Calendar_Template:Date Range
