Request for a one-month delay of finalization of the end-of-project

edit

(note: I accidentally posted the wrong grant extension request here yesterday, thus, the major revision today.)

Hello Ariel and others.

Although I knew the end of the year was coming, we are still finalizing the work for our WikiCred grant, because of several reasons 1) the DC Public Tool Library that I founded growing in popularity, necessitating my finding and turning over management to a team of volunteers; 2) beginning elder care earlier than expected; 3) my main contractor having 3 family emergencies in a row, each for six weeks leave of absence, with her father and mother then both having repeated emergencies and hospitalizations. She officially resigned last week, and 4) my inappropriate choice of another contractor.

My sincere apologies for being behind on this.

Work remaining includes the finalization of tone of our finished article, and the discovery of all our climate games work in version history, as someone deleted the page without telling us. In addition, we will seek final discussions with WikiProject Climate Change, PCC.

Another item remaining is the assistance of an African climate activist in supplying examples of African-specific climate actions. I separately recruited two different sets of activists to construct references, as well as to write an article about the diversity of Climate Action in Africa. Despite multiple contacts, I have only received partial replies, and am hoping to try again this month. Otherwise, the bulk of the deliverables were completed last year.

Having turned over management of the tool library, and helped guide them through this theft and media, after this weekend, I will be able to devote 80% of my time to PCC and this report.

I hope you can extend the deadline of this project, as though it is not yet finalized, it is definitely going to be finished.

Thank you,

Annette Olson, Ph.D. Project Manager, Climate Steps
