Help about Chinese language codes
Forgive my ignorance, I'm trying to arrange babel templates on it.source (and, as a side effect, also here), so I need some advice before making gross mistakes with Chinese languages: please let me fill this table with exact data.
Wikipedia code | Name in language | WP main page | ISO 639 code | User template |
---|---|---|---|---|
cdo | 閩東語 / Mìng-dĕ̤ng-ngṳ̄ - Min Dong | Tàu_Hiĕk | cdo | ? |
gan | 贛語 - Gan | 封面 | gan | Template:user language/gan |
hak | 客家語 / Hak-kâ-ngî - Hakka | Thèu-chông | hak | ? |
za | Vahcuengh - Zhuang | Mae meh | za | ? |
zh-yue | 粵語 - Standard Cantonese | 頭版 | yue | user language/yue |
If I missed any Wikipedia, or any template subpage, or I put any wrong definition, please edit freely. - εΔω 22:22, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
Zazaki code affair
I need a clarification about different codes used to label Zazaki language...
- diq is used as a subdomain prefix: the project was dubbed diq.wikipedia.org
- za and zza are used in diq.wikipedia.org to define Zazaki language in Babel templates
- zza is used here to define the subpage of this template devoted to Zazaki language.
I'm not surprised by my confusion about this codes :D
On it.wikisource, where I'm updating babel templates, I stuck to wikipedia prefixes as I did for other subpages, but I'd like to understand better. - εΔω 17:53, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

Language Code Proficiency Level Categories: en vs. mi
The language code proficiency level categories at User language written in English would define me as a 'native speaker' of language code mi (henceforth referred to as 'the reo'). However, the reo translation used at [[1]] for level "N" can be translated as 'the Maori language is the language of upbringing of this person'. As the reo was not the primary language of my home as a child, I have opted to prioritise [[2]] definition over the User language English language version. It is recommended that a standardisation test be developed to measure equivalence of categories between languages. --Te Karere 12:17, 12 November 2011 (UTC)
