Thumbnails for non-image media files?

Is it possible to create image thumbnails for .ogg vorbis files or other non-image multimedia?

I know one can embed an image in an article with a manually generated thumbnail like this:

[[image:blah.jpg|thumb=blah_small.jpg|some text]]

But what about on an Image Page? This would be so useful for category listings.
