Talk:Stewards/elections 2010/votes/Corruptcopper
Hi there. Just thought I'd drop you a line having just read your statement. Please don't be down-hearted that people have not supported your bid for Stewardship. Hell, I've been editing Wikipedia for 6 years and I barely knew stewards even existed until this week! It sounds like you have a lot to give to the projects. I trust that you find it rewarding in many ways. If being a steward is very important to you, try to take a good look at the results of this election and then research the successful candidates; that way you'll come to understand what people are looking for and you can work towards it as you volunteer on into the future. In the meantime, please don't just leave and please carry on doing good work. Regards, Bodnotbod 19:59, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
In response to this statement: I am sorry for You that You are planning to leave wiki because of this voting.
To me this signals that You indeed are not ready (yet), because stewards are often insulted on- and offwiki and have to work in conflict situations where they can't allow themselves such rapid fatigue but where they need to be stress resistant and emotionally stable.
If one runs for this voting, one needs to be ready to take criticism and not to rant around afterwards giving other candidates strange objections, that IMHO obviously were some kind of valve to cope with the "negative" votings.
I wish You personally, that You take a step back and think about the comments on Your page again, have a look what stewards work is all about and then compare if You have a lot experience in that field or not, in short, that You take the critisism constructive and continue Your work, trying to improve Your work in other areas and maybe run again if You have completed some work in other fields.

- Don't be discouraged by this. There are only a few stewards needed, and there are so many other useful things you can do in Wikipedia. --Apoc2400 22:47, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
Immature not young
editI will quote what you said in your withdrawal "Therefore I regret that I will withdraw my standing in this election, maybe if the community actually gave youngsters a chance to show themselves then I would consider it. Unless I can see some support in this then I don't see the point in editing the wikis anymore and will have lost a very hard working contributor"
The fact that you aren't getting a good reception from the community about your application for Stewardship and then taking the stance "Well if I can't be a steward than I just won't edit anymore at all so screw you guys". It's this kind of attitude that makes people feel that you are not mature enough for the position. It's not your age, it's the childish ways you handle things. Because you can't be steward your just going to quit editing? That sounds like a selfish, childish position your taking because you can't get your way. It's no wonder that other editors don't feel your old enough for the job. Your immaturity clearly shows. Aspensti 06:56, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for that information. It was basically I had so much with personal off wiki situations I just took it out on the wiki which was wrong. I know I was immature and to be honest if i could take it back I would. Corruptcopper 12:18, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
