Simplify instructionsEdit

I was about to be bold and change the instructions for GR requests, but, as that page has many translations, I decided to ask first.

Is it really necessary to ask users to check if they have unified login? If there is any account not unified, it is so rare that it’s not worth to have it there.

I suggest to remove the unified login part and only ask to check if users are logged in.—Teles «Talk ˱C L @ S˲» 19:15, 7 January 2021 (UTC)

Sounds like something from pre-SUL finalisation. As stewards still can unmerge accounts there are probably a couple non-merged ones in the wild at the moment, but indeed, I think it is rare enough and is only bound to confuse new users that do not know that account can be not global to begin with. And stewards and other regulars here are mostly experienced enough to catch the problem shall such rare guest come here (and then it would have to be dealt with anyway). Ergo,   Support. --Base (talk) 19:41, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
P.S. But as to translations is it a good practice to try to fix them when a change is made. Something as simple as removing a list item usually is not difficult to do despite not knowing the language. --Base (talk) 19:43, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
@Base: I agree. Do you think that removing the topics 2 and 3 is enough? It would make things easier for translators.—Teles «Talk ˱C L @ S˲» 17:07, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
  • I have implemented the changes. I just removed topics 2 and 3, so it's easy for translators. Please, ping in case of any problem, but it's not a big deal anyway.—Teles «Talk ˱C L @ S˲» 19:27, 27 January 2021 (UTC)
Return to "Steward requests/Global permissions" page.
