When will someone finally create a test wiki in Incubator? — Svetko 16:16, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks, I created it right away here. Now the page exists but how will it enter the list at the main page as long as it's blocked? Or will the administrators add it?--Lefcant 17:52, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Localization

Thank you to the Ancient Greek community; the Ancient Greek Wikipedia is only one step away from creation. Before the wiki can be created, we need to translate the main interface messages. This page will serve as a place for centralized discussion and coordination, while the actual translation will be on the BetaWiki (see BetaWiki instructions and a full list of Ancient Greek interface messages). If you have any problems, comments, suggestions, or questions, feel free to post below and we will be sure they are addressed.

While it would be even better to translate the entire interface, some of it isn't very important and can be translated later. If you see any messages you think don't need to be translated, feel free to mention them here.

The following messages don't need translation before final approval (although you are free to translate them anyway). The * symbol followed by a number means that several messages beginning with that are unneeded. For example, unlock* (6) means that six messages with names starting with "unlock" (unlockdb, unlockdbtext, unlockconfirm, unlockbtn, unlockdbsuccesssub, and unlockdbsuccesstext) are unneeded.

I think they will be automatically added, because I saw a new wikipedia with on the Main page: Dear developers, because of a human fault the Zeêuws test wiki at Incubator looks empty while in fact it is not. For that reason, I have transmitted the pages manually. SPQRobin 17:40, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

Yes, there is a tool that can be used to transfer pages from the Incubator. It is not automatic, though, and has to be started manually by a developer (I think only Tim Starling can), so it might take some time before it happens. I know it did not happen for Kabyle (it was done manually, afaik), because it took so long, but it is possible.

And I know it's a lot to translate, but it is great benefits, and the software is very stable, so the translation will be valid for a long long time. Jon Harald Søby 21:36, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

Many of the messages on the interface seem to be quite technical details about photography. Do they have to be translated before the Wiki is made, or can they wait a while? LeighvsOptimvsMaximvs ^(talk) 15:28, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

If you're referring to the messages whose names start with "exif-", those are listed above as optional. If you mean different messages, could you be more specific? —{admin} Pathoschild 07:17:14, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

I'm sorry but I'm trying for two days now to correct a little mistake, but I can't change nothing... I have an account, I've inscribed myself here and I try to change those messages; I click on μεταγράφειν but the window is grey and nothing is to move... In addition the whole wiki is in Finish and I don't manage to change it! Well that sounds pretty funny doesn't it? Put "I ask for translator privileges" next to your name. Sooner or later (it took a few hours for me) someone will give them to you and you will be able to translate. As for the wiki being in Finnish, go to your preferences at the top of the screen, and change your language to "grc" on the drop-down menu. Some of the wiki (the bits that we have translated) will now appear in Greek. LeighvsOptimvsMaximvs ^(talk) 14:51, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Thank you very mutch, everything is okay exept the Finnish... I had tried to change the settings before but some messages kept on being in Finnish; well never mind it's not that disturbing. One more question: Do we have anywhere a page where we can discuss about some translations?
