OpenStreetMap Licenses
editMy plan was to reproduce the OSM material that had featured on the previous two Glasgow meetup pages. I took the screenshot of the map and was in the process of uploading this to the Commons but stopped when I got to the licensing part. This was because the options for CC licenses in the Commons were either the CC-BY-SA 2.5 or 3.0 versions, but on the copyright page of openstreetmap.org it says that their maps are all licensed as CC-BY-SA 2.0. It was a bit late in the day to solve this, so I've taken the 'Getting There' section out of the events page. Anyone got any experience of this? Graeme Arnott (talk) 12:46, 30 November 2013 (UTC)
- CC-BY-SA-2.0 is an accepted licence on Commons. Because it's an older version of the licence, it's not part of the default option on the UploadWizard. You can however, manually tag the licence during uploading by selecting "Another reason not mentioned above" and then put in "{{Cc-by-sa-2.0|1=© OpenStreetMap contributors}}". I hope that helps for the future. -- Katie Chan (WMUK) (talk) 11:22, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
