Alcohol should not be overly encouraged at afterparties
editAs an event organizer (for SMWCon and WordCamp St. Louis among others) I know the 'easy' and seemingly socially acceptable thing to do is promote the availably of alcohol at social gatherings like afterparties. Who doesn't like to have a good drink after a long day? Well, many people, myself included, for one.
I would like us to consider the idea that alcohol can be present, but should be treated with equal 'promotion' when discussing these events.
When talking about the afterparty, say during the event as a reminder to attendees, organizers and MC's should take deliberate consideration that some of the audience may not be drinkers.

- Hi Ckoerner. Good point. I encourage you to add these considerations to the Learning Pattern. Cheers, Jmorgan (WMF) (talk) 17:14, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
