Accumulations on discussion pages

On this discussion page most of the entries are left by it:Utente:InternetArchiveBot, an accumulation of edits that has become a matter of discussion.

Is it really necessary to insert these notifications in the discussion pages, when editors will in any case have noticed that the article page has been changed by the bot?

If it is felt that a notification on a discussion page is advantageous, should not the notification be automatically removed after a fixed time, say one week, to avoid creating such accumulations? Theodoxa (talk) 19:45, 15 January 2020 (UTC)

Stop (repetitive) IAB changes

How does one stop IAB from taking action on an entry? I for one do not like how IAB comes and changes perfectly working – and open – Google Book references in exchange for Internet Archive URLs that often force readers to create IA accounts, i.e., lie behind firewall. @Aboudaqn: I am seeing the same thing on Wikipedia articles where this 'bot' comes along and replaces google books to those on archive.org, and without a discussion or consensus. I had a discussion with the bot operator asking that this activity stop. I was told that "When you revert the bot it will learn and respect that and not restore the IA links", but after appearing to go along with the request the bot was back. Yes, linking to archive.org forces a reader to stop and sign up and "borrow" a book just to check on a reference. I can only wonder if the folks at archive.org are behind this. I see here that your case is being ignored also. I just left another message to the bot operator. Perhaps you might want to chime in. -- Gwillhickers (talk) 20:37, 19 April 2020 (UTC)
