Well, it can be improved

"Internet used to be cool" reminds me in a way to Samuel L. Jackson's line in "Jackie Brown": "your ass used to be beautiful" :P "Internet solía ser fantástico" is an adequate translation of the sentence. I think maybe there's one, but it's nice enough.

In Spanish, "feels like" should be translated by "parecer" or any other verb with an equal meaning in the appropriate context. Also, "anuncios" is also used to make reference to "announcements", which by the way shares the same Latin etymology. "Publicidad" is a way better word there. I feel that the "ahora" shouldn't be somehow in "Wikipedia es ahora mantenida por una organización...". Was Wikipedia ever run by a for-profit organization? However, the English original also says "Wikipedia is now..." I do like the emphasis provided by "Sí se usa dinero". We don't do "lanzar dinero" which equals to "throw (off) money" in English, not even we win a lottery. "Mándanos" or simply "dona" (without the imperative tense -nos is more polite) could be a suitable replacement. There's a typo in "Comparenos": it is an accented word, "compárenos". The imperative tense here is very well used. Dollars are not in frequent use outside some Hispanic American countries: I don't know if they're converting also currencies in other translations. I think, however, that dollars are fine: putting that in euros would not help those who think in Argentinian pesos or any other non-European currency.

It is a common mistake to assume that the anglicism "billions" is translated to "billones". In fact, a "billion" is 1000M or 1,000,000,000 where a "billón" is 1,000,000,000,000. "Miles de millones de visitas" is impressive enough, there's no need to distort figures by saying "billones".

"harian" is accented, too: "harían". As is "donacion": "donación". "ayudara" -> "ayudará". "internet" is "Internet", as proper nouns should start with a capital letter.

Well, those are my views in this translation. If you don't like it, I have others Villodre 19:52, 19 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
