Talk:Fundraising 2010/Graphic Banners

What are the parameters for banner designs? Are there minimum/maximum dimension?--Ragesoss 19:42, 8 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yes, please. That is information is relevant. Emijrp 23:32, 8 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
The banners should be 28 x 6cm or 797 x 172px -Deniz (WMF) 00:09, 9 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
You put 800 x 180 on the other page. I'm confused. --Ragesoss 01:37, 9 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Animated/JavaScript banners edit

Hi. Are animated/JavaScript banners allowed? I would like to propose a banner using this idea http://toolserver.org/~emijrp/wikimediacounter/ Regards. Emijrp 23:59, 8 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

We are still not sure we can do animated banners without making our tech team cry, but it is not something we are saying no to. Please propose one and I'll see what we can do! --Deniz (WMF) 00:09, 9 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Something like this. The JavaScript can be optimized, sure. Also, I don't know what is the best way to insert this in the top, using iframes? Now, it is running in Toolserver, but if it is possible to use this banner in the fundraising, it must be executed in the main servers (or a more secure place). It doesn't work fine in Internet Explorer : ( Emijrp 10:51, 9 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

blue-text class edit

Hi. Where is the blue-text class defined? I need it to use the same colors. Thanks. Emijrp 01:43, 9 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

HTML Banners edit

I know some very advanced HTML code that can look good without overwhelming the browser. I also know code that can be used like a transparent window for images. Anyone want me to implement this? Access Denied 06:08, 9 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Credits edit

How is going to be shown the credits in the case of attribution images? Clicking in the image go to donation page. Emijrp 11:31, 9 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

That's the least of our concerns right now, but we could make everyone CC0 or link on the donation page.  ono  00:47, 10 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
If a banner we use does include images that require attribution, we will have to contact the creator of that content and ask if we can use it without attribution. If they agree, we can continue, otherwise we won't be able to use the image unfortunately as we cannot properly attribute them in the banner. If there is more than one author of an image due to multiple revisions, we will have to get approval from each author. --Deniz (WMF) 19:42, 12 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • Update: Photo credits can be seen here

Link to editor banner messages? edit

The graphic banner idea makes sense--how about a link to the best editor messages which were voted on earlier. If they can be incorporated into graphic banners, even better. But as is, they're hard to find. Ocaasi 02:23, 19 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
