Hi, All of us at la.wiki can read and understand english fine anyway (being polyglots). We just don't want the english language words to mar/distract from the la.wiki interface by appearing at the top of our pages.
The remaining parts, quotations and financial stuff, are ok to leave in english. The translations are fine as they are.
That I know no one from la.wiki is intending to do more here as it is a waste of time since all of us read and communicate in english fine. --Rafaelgarcia 01:54, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

- It's good to see the banners in Latin. I don't quite agree with Rafael above. It's true that most of the most-active editors on Vicipaedia can speak English, but many of the readers of our pages can't. Latin still serves, admittedly in a limited way, as a language of communication. Andrew Dalby 10:08, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

- It seems that the translations for la.wiki were not completely published. For we are still getting english text on la.wiki, e.g. “There is never a day without Wikipedia.” and "25 August", even though this very text was all already translated into latin on this page. Normally I wouldn't care since most people on la.wiki know english well enough, but our greatly valued editor Neander spent so much effort in doing it, and he is very disappointed his translations weren't used.
