Can't just that be thought as some kind of topic aggregator for Flow ? A discussion should them require to have a "main wiki" and the page of a user on some wiki could just have an option to show all the topics on all wikis ... TomT0m (talk) 21:40, 24 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Also : this seems a special case of content dispatching / agregation like can do a decentralized social network, like those based on XMPP (an example http://salut-a-toi.org/ ) If there is already PHP implementation of those, this would somewhat mean that the wikipage of each user on each wiki could become a client of the social network which can share its flow topics with all the same user pages on each wiki. Does that make any sense ? TomT0m (talk) 21:45, 24 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Yes, it does. Aggregating discussions across wikis is one of the long-term goals of the Flow project. It does seem like we need structured discussions in order to manage a cross-wiki talk page, although I'm interested to learn if there are other possibilties. -- DannyH (WMF) (talk) 19:35, 25 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
Maybe one could use an InstantCommons like implementation where a "global" talk page overrides the local ones and sends notifications on all wikis when posted on. Such a system may even be combined with the "Central repository for Modules, Templates etc." project by defining Usertalk as one of the globalized pagetypes. As for Flow, I think the communities are likely only going to accept it with a serious debugging and making the functions (such as individual posts) more wikipage-like (e.g markup). This all should be posted on phab:T121894, yes? Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 20:14, 25 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
At the moment, I'm still figuring out the right balance between Phabricator discussions and on-wiki discussions. :) There are a lot of people who never use Phabricator or aren't comfortable with it, so I'm talking wherever people show up to talk. -- DannyH (WMF) (talk) 20:18, 25 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
