editWe should add a section on selecting courses - or at least the thought process behind making that decision! So for example, do we want to focus on only sciences? or only humanities? or a mix? or does it matter? Just wanted to document this so we don't forget :) Jwild 19:08, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
Number of classes
editAfter speaking with User:Frank_Schulenburg, I wonder if our "optimal" number of classes is in fact 3-5 instead of 5-7. It seems really important that we have very clear, focused attention on the classrooms we can support, so that we can understand what does and what does not work in Brazil in the classroom setting! What do you all think? Jwild 22:17, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
Types of assignments
editOne thing the Cairo Pilot is doing is providing two options for the classroom: (A) Students writing articles based on their research, and (B) students translating articles into Arabic from other languages. What are thoughts on the type of suggested classroom models that would work well for Brazil? Would translating be a good option? Jwild 22:25, 18 January 2012 (UTC)
- I think a great option. The translations can happen in two ways, stimulating bilateral relations, without the need of the mediation on WP-EN. For the Ambassadors Program, we can get the courses of Languages (Letras, in portuguese). Also, this allows the work in language schools or elementary schools. - Great points! Let's not forget about this idea before the next semester - we can observe the outcomes of these classes from the Cairo pilot, and go from there. Jwild 13:39, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
