Candidates page edit

I've reverted all "done" flags for the page "Candidates" because nobody provided a complete translation of candidates' statements. Please check the English page --FollowTheMedia 09:43, 3 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thank you! The candidates page can't really be "done" until all candidates are translated. As someone suggested it might also be a good idea to list the candidate translation separately to better reflect the work that needs to be done there. Jon Harald Søby 16:13, 3 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Translation help edit

I wished to translate this page to Marathi and so also many other pages in wiki. But I somehow do to understand/know how to do the same. Please help to translate this article and many others to come in Marathi.

Italian Canadidates Page/Pagina Candidati Italiana edit

The Italian candidates page is completely translated, could someone please mark it as such? La pagina italiana dei cnadidati è completamente tradotta, qualcuno potrebbe per favore marcarla come done?

There will probably be more candidates, so it is probably better to wait with that until the candidacy period is over. Jon Harald Søby 08:29, 10 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Editing Procedure (for bangali editors) edit

এটা কি প্রয়োজনীয়, wiki তে সম্পূর্ন বাংলা ব্যবহার করা? কারণ ক্ষেত্র বিশেষে, কিছু কিছু বাংলা শব্দ অধিকাংশ মানুষের কাছে একেবারেই অপরিচিত। আমরা যেমন আজ অভ্র দিয়ে সহজে বাংলা লিখতে পারি, তেমনি কি বাংলাতে মিশ্র ভাষা থাকলে খুব খারাপ হবে। মতামত জানাবেন... why are there so many boxs?????? What are ypu even saying

Edit permissions on translatewiki edit

Hi - the Chinese versions of voting messages needs to be translated, but I don't have the permissions to edit anything on translatewiki. My username there is the same as here (Deryck Chan). Or if an admin there would prefer to edit directly, my translations are as follows:

securepoll-too-new
  • en: Sorry, you cannot vote. Your account needs to have been registered before $1 to vote in this election, you registered on $2.
  • zh-hant: 對不起,您不能投票。$1 之前登記的帳戶才能在這次選舉中投票,而你登記的日期是 $2 。
  • zh-hans: 对不起,您不能投票。$1 之前登记的帐户才能在这次选举中投票,而你登记的日期是 $2 。
securepoll-round
  • en: Round $1
  • zh-hant: 第$1輪
  • zh-hans: 第$1轮
securepoll-spoilt
  • en: (Spoilt)
  • zh-hant: (廢票)
  • zh-hans: (废票)
securepoll-exhausted
  • en: (Exhausted)
  • zh-hant: (用盡)

Please request translator rights on translatewiki.net. You need these in order to translate. This process should be quick, but if you have problems, either with the rights or with learning how to translate, you are welcome to leave a message on my talk page at translatewiki.net (same user name) or on support. Lloffiwr 16:21, 29 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Requested. Fingers crossed :S Deryck Chan 13:10, 1 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Create pages which won't be translated? edit

On the Welsh translation we will not be translating the candidates' statements, since we prefer to read these in the original English. Do we need to create the page anyway and save it unamended as /cy? If we didn't do this for the candidates' statements, or any other of the pages in this collection, would Welsh users clicking on links to pages not set up for Welsh be directed away from the Welsh language collection of pages, and be unable to return to the Welsh language interface? Lloffiwr 21:25, 28 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Have created all pages in set, in case needed. All pages now ready to be posted. Lloffiwr 11:29, 29 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
I believe this should be   Done. Let me know if you have any problems. Ral315 (talk) 00:59, 31 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
I have voted using the Welsh interface, and would like to thank Ral315 for uploading these pages. Lloffiwr 18:20, 8 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Add Gujarati edit

We need to add the Gujarati(gu) Language.

"In other languages" template edit

The "In other languages" template on top of the election pages aren't showing Chinese (simplified nor traditional). I clicked the "edit" button there but it doesn't point me to the right page to edit. Can someone get that fixed? Deryck Chan 16:43, 8 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

One of the meta users who has the right permissions needs to "publish" the Chinese pages. We translators cannot do this ourselves. You might try to request publication of the Chinese translation on the translators-l list; that sometimes gets a quicker response. Lloffiwr 18:39, 8 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
The problem is that the Template:Other languages can only handle up to 60 languages. Markus Schulze 19:44, 8 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
Is there any way to fix this? Chinese will always be the one left out then... --Bencmq 23:05, 8 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
This problem can easily be fixed, but only by someone who has the right to edit this template. He simply has to add the following text:
-->{{#if:{{{61|}}}|{{Other languages/link|{{{61|}}}|page={{{page|}}}}}}} <!--
-->{{#if:{{{62|}}}|{{Other languages/link|{{{62|}}}|page={{{page|}}}}}}} <!--
-->{{#if:{{{63|}}}|{{Other languages/link|{{{63|}}}|page={{{page|}}}}}}} <!--
-->{{#if:{{{64|}}}|{{Other languages/link|{{{64|}}}|page={{{page|}}}}}}} <!--
-->{{#if:{{{65|}}}|{{Other languages/link|{{{65|}}}|page={{{page|}}}}}}} <!--
-->{{#if:{{{66|}}}|{{Other languages/link|{{{66|}}}|page={{{page|}}}}}}} <!--
-->{{#if:{{{67|}}}|{{Other languages/link|{{{67|}}}|page={{{page|}}}}}}} <!--
-->{{#if:{{{68|}}}|{{Other languages/link|{{{68|}}}|page={{{page|}}}}}}} <!--
-->{{#if:{{{69|}}}|{{Other languages/link|{{{69|}}}|page={{{page|}}}}}}} <!--
-->{{#if:{{{70|}}}|{{Other languages/link|{{{70|}}}|page={{{page|}}}}}}} <!--
-->{{#if:{{{71|}}}|{{Other languages/link|{{{71|}}}|page={{{page|}}}}}}} <!--
-->{{#if:{{{72|}}}|{{Other languages/link|{{{72|}}}|page={{{page|}}}}}}} <!--
-->{{#if:{{{73|}}}|{{Other languages/link|{{{73|}}}|page={{{page|}}}}}}} <!--
-->{{#if:{{{74|}}}|{{Other languages/link|{{{74|}}}|page={{{page|}}}}}}} <!--
-->{{#if:{{{75|}}}|{{Other languages/link|{{{75|}}}|page={{{page|}}}}}}} <!--
-->{{#if:{{{76|}}}|{{Other languages/link|{{{76|}}}|page={{{page|}}}}}}} <!--
-->{{#if:{{{77|}}}|{{Other languages/link|{{{77|}}}|page={{{page|}}}}}}} <!--
-->{{#if:{{{78|}}}|{{Other languages/link|{{{78|}}}|page={{{page|}}}}}}} <!--

-->{{#if:{{{80|}}}|{{Other languages/link|{{{80|}}}|page={{{page|}}}}}}} <!--

Tracking publication of pages edit

In the table recording the status of translations of the 2011 board elections, the status "done" is not being changed to "published" when a page is published. This is leaving us translators uncertain as to whether a language has been published or not. Lloffiwr 18:43, 8 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Scots edit

Would someone add "Scots" to the list of languages? I could make the translation.--Rabbie Barns 12:06, 10 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

I have added "gd" (for "Scottish Gaelic") and "sco" (for "Scots"). Markus Schulze 12:27, 10 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Subject of email send to wp-nl is wrong edit

Can somebody change the subject of the email send to members of wp-nl from Wikimedia Foundation Elections 2009 to Wikimedia Foundation Elections 2011? MrBlueSky 12:18, 10 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

The email in zh-hans/zh-hant are also titled 2009. May be a issue across all languages? --Bencmq 14:30, 10 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
