Howdy, I've written something that does this (one better, I think) on my mediawiki installaion. You don't even need a regex, simple string functions work fine and are faster (I'm using substr_count). I've written Brion Vibber about it and got a lot of great suggestions for spam controls. I found your suggestion reading up on what's already been discussed with the thought of possibly creating (or more likely, updating) a central page with new anti-spam ideas.--Aerik 02:51, 18 May 2005 (UTC)
