The Tajik Wikimedians User Group is a voluntary group dedicated to enriching Wikipedia, and other Wikimedia projects, in Tajikistan. The Tajik Wikimedians User Group helps various periodic activities to enrich Tajik Wikipedia and spread free knowledge, such as educational lectures, training and editing workshops, and essay writing competitions. We also work with libraries, museums, research centres, and various other parties interested in enriching Tajiki content on the Internet.
Objectives
- Promotion of Wikimedia projects and free content in general. To encourage the use of Wikimedia resources in education (at cultural centres, associations and universities);
- Outreach work in schools, universities and by social media to tell people about Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects;
- Edit-a-thons to help Wikipedians/Wikimedians to enrich content;
- Participation in different cultural events;
- Photography trips and upload-a-thons to teach users how to upload images to Commons and how to use them.
