Error msg on EE-Wiki

Got the following msg on EE-Wiki:

Pattern vandalism #1 - Please report errors at the noticeboard

I just tried to add a new section (BRFA) here: [1], the msg stated, removed some rights from ur account temporarily. Could a Steward please have a look at this pattern, EE-Wiki, and my account there? I would appreciate your reply on my home wiki, if possible? de:Benutzer Diskussion:Hedwig in Washington

Not time sensitive at all, I just need to get my BRFA on there someday. :)

Thanks folks! --Hedwig in Washington 03:46, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

Thank you very much! Works like a charm! :-)) --Hedwig in Washington 19:34, 7 September 2011 (UTC)

Mailing lists vs. OTRS queue

When contacting stewards, when should one use the mailing list or the OTRS queue, respectively? — Kudu ~I/O~ 14:27, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

OTRS queue always. Mailing list does not accept external email. -- Marco Aurelio 20:32, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

Urgent: user creation limit

Dear stewards, right now I'm running a training for Sundanese wikipedian which require user creation from one IP address in an instance. Could anyone please remove the limit (the trainee are at least 50 person). --Kandar 04:08, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

I thought devs can set such exemptions. Not sure stewards can. — Tanvir | Talk ] 04:10, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
I don't know who to contact, can anyone help? --Kandar 04:16, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
AIUI, there's 2 typical solutions to this issue:
  1. have the participants register from home before arriving. (do they have any internet access outside of this workshop?) saves time and hassle and avoids this problem entirely or
  2. have 3+ Wikimedians who will attend acquire the accountcreator right ahead of time and those users can then register on behalf of attendees.
Of course you could combine both so that you can make more than 6 accts for people that didn't do their homework. :) In any case you haven't provided the date or IP address or link to info about the event so I'm not inclined to take the "urgency" as seriously. --Jeremyb 07:29, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
btw, someone mentioned on IRC that they thought this event was going on now. It's been 3 hrs so it's probably over by now anyway, but the fastest way to get help is probably on IRC. try: #wikimedia-stewardsconnect or #wikimediaconnect --Jeremyb 07:41, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
Account creation throtle is something set by devs, not stewards so you should try on bugzilla. There's, however, an "accountcreator" permission that allows the holder to be able to create as many accounts as the holder wants. As with any permission-granting we need community consensus before assignement. Best regards, -- Marco Aurelio 14:26, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

urgent attension

Sitush is aggressively editing many Indian cast related topics . He has good backing from three or four administrators cause of his personal connections in real life, which makes WP ANI useless in dealing with him. please kind stewards look in to this matter with urgency & stop his bulling of Indian editors. Us Indians also do contribute a lot to WP ,please help us. Sesshomaru666666 14:29, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

Hello. I'm not a steward, but I'm not sure stewards could act in this situation. What I would advise you, if the issue really can't be solved locally, is to open a new request for comments and to describe the situation. I looked quickly to see what happened, and the user Sitush has not contributed on indian wikis, just on enwiki and commons. If you're reffering to pages on en.wikipedia.org, the community is large enough to solve the problem itself. Cordially, -- Quentinv57 (talk) 18:10, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
