Thank you. Is it possible to create the old account name again, so noone can create and use it anymore? I am not able to do that on my own. I don't want that anyone can be renamed to that old name. --Bjarlin (talk) 18:46, 28 November 2015 (UTC)
Why you can't create it again? What happens if you go to Special:LogIn and choose "Create another account"? --Stryn (talk) 18:49, 28 November 2015 (UTC)
It says, there is a user name "Bjorlin" which is very similar to the name, so it doesn't allow to create the old name. But that exists since 2013. Why could I create the name in 2014 then? That's not logical. And any user could create a rename request to the old name, that's not good. The software should allow to create the old name again to prevent this. --Bjarlin (talk) 18:57, 28 November 2015 (UTC)
@Bjarlin: If someone files a rename request to the old name, the reamer will see the same anti-spoof error. If you still think it is necessary to recreate the old account we can do so for you by recreating it with a random pw. --Steinsplitter (talk) 19:10, 28 November 2015 (UTC)
That would be good. See also this discussion: That other user already wanted a rename in 2013 which had been rejected there. If he would be renamed here in the future, this wouldn't be rejected, and my old name would be available for everyone to registrate without that anti-spoof error message. It should be able to prevent those things after renames. Why is it not possible to create an old user name again after a rename, automatically or not? --Bjarlin (talk) 19:15, 28 November 2015 (UTC)
Reason: I have created my current wiki account about 2 years ago. I forgot that I had another one already in use since 2011, and when I remembered it was too late. So now I have two wiki accounts, and I have access to them both. I want to unify them into one, my current one, so I kindly request transferring all the edits and credits on Janchik333 account (which I believe are mainly on the ruwiki, I created two articles one about Turk Telekom Arena and one about iPad 2) to CanOzmaden account and making Janchik333 inactive if that is possible. Thank you
Reason: It's my real surname and I do not want to use it as my nickname. Scianto, holder of this name, has done only 2 edits in eowiki in a talk page so you can rename him to Scianto~eowiki. I really want this nickname, because I use it a lot in social networks and messengers. Is it possible? --Ochilov(talk) 18:00, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
Please, notify the user about this request (at their talk page on eowiki). Ruslik (talk) 20:35, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
Reason: I created this account two years ago to use as a bot account. Unfortunately, I have forgotten the password, and am unable to retrieve the password via email (must not have entered one?). If it's not too much trouble, could someone please usurp the account so I can recreate the account? Thanks! :) FASTILY 03:39, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
Reason: wiki auto-created wikiMedia commons user Calypso10 due to https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Single_User_Login_finalisation_announcement. At that time I already had a wikiMedia commons account "Cavarizo" with works attached to it. I would like to take the works with me and therefore request to rename wikiMedia commons "Cavarizo" to "Calypso10" and merge it with auto-created wikiMedia commons "Calypso10".
It is not possible to merge local accounts. So, on Commons you should decide which account you want under the username Calypso10: current one with one edit or one currently named Cavarizo with four edits. Ruslik (talk) 18:21, 18 November 2015 (UTC)
I want to continue the Commons account named Cavarizo with four edits (one picture) under the name Calypso10. Loosing the Commons account Calypso10 with the one edit I don't mind (as long as this does not delete my WikiPedia account Calypso10). Calypso10 (talk) 22:32, 18 November 2015 (UTC)
Done. Please, merge your account manually. Ruslik (talk) 18:10, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
I did jump the gun and saw it after I did the rename, but realized there is a vanishingly small chance the renamed user would object and was/am willing to deal with it if he did. MBisanztalk 21:55, 22 November 2015 (UTC)
Reason: My en WP account has changed to Kwork2 for privacy reasons. Global sign in makes having my original 'Malcolm Schosha' user name, which still exists for my other accounts, problematic. I would like to have all my accounts named Kwork2.
Hi Malcolm Schosha, could you please log in with the "Kwork2" account as well, and reply here so we know you own the account. All the best, Taketa (talk) 21:46, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
I didnt know I could do that. However it is, of course, red. Kwork2 (talk) 23:31, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
Done - All accounts with edits have been moved to the "Kwork2" globalaccount. Please log in to both accounts one at a time, and go to Special:MergeAccount, while logged in, so you can attach the local accounts back to your globalaccounts. Sincerely, Taketa (talk) 18:32, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
Taketa, thank you for your help which is much appreciated. Kwork2 (talk) 22:37, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
Reason: Back then I had to create one account for each language. Gigahz in Spanish became Gigahz~eswiki after the move, Gigahz in Norwegian became Gigahz~nowiki. I think for English "Gigahz" was already taken on that wiki and I therefore created "arnotixe" instead. And that one survived the unified login move :) Is it possible to merge these three? Sometime in the future maybe? (Hmm seems like wikipedia auto-Capitalizes my username to Arnotixe but ok…
I can rename Gigahz~eswiki to Arnotixe on eswiki but in this case the current account Arnotixe on eswiki will need to be renamed to something else and as a result two edits associated with it will be lost. Ruslik (talk) 16:16, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
