Reason: The á character in Tarzán is not easy to type. This is creating problems for me, while loggin, I am sure it will create problems for other users if they mention my Username somewhere during talk page discussions. And I wish to have that username.
@Tarzán: You have been renamed one time before. You really want to change the name again. Please note, this is the last time we allow you to change the name. We allow name changes only for good reasons pursuant to our policy. --Steinsplitter (talk) 13:59, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
Reason: I create second account for commons.wikipedia.org: Nike09, because Nike was used... now, I want to have one account and Nike~skwiki is horrible, and on slovak kayboard, write tilde is hard. Thanks.
Hi. If it is fine for you, I can move out User:Algorithm at mediawikiwiki and then rename Algorithm~mediawikiwiki to Algorithm. Then, you can use special:mergeaccount to attach it to Algorithm@global. What do you think? Best regards. —MarcoAurelio 17:18, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
As long as no edits prior to 2015 are lost, that will work. --Algorithm (talk) 17:25, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
Done Algorithm moved to Algorithm (usurped) and Algorithm~mediawikiwiki moved to Algorithm. This process was local only at mediawiki.org. You can now access Special:MergeAccount and merge Algorithm account from mediawiki.org into your global account. Hope that this satisfies you. Best regards. —MarcoAurelio 17:42, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
Reason: Originally, I had accounts in the German and English Wikipedia. Each login worked for the "correct" language version only. After the SUL merge, I get confused and happen to log into the wrong accounts all the time. Please merge me.
LarsWinterfeld Unfortunately it won't, the feature requested on T49918 doesn't work well at all. I don't think there's anything to expect for at least a year (optimistically). Elfix 08:07, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
Proposed action: regroup Ukko.de@commonswiki with the global account Ukko. Ukko@commonswiki's contributions will not be attached to your global account any more. Do you accept these changes? Elfix 07:59, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
On hold until 4 September 2015. Giving some time to AzorAhai to reply before usurpation can take place, then renaming. Best regards. —MarcoAurelio 09:44, 3 August 2015 (UTC) Giving one month instead of one week since it appears to be the general practice. —MarcoAurelio 20:44, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
Reason: I use the name Kurousagi or Dakar on every site I use (that has a username change feature), and I'd like it to be easier for my friends to find me. I'd put this in the English Wikipedia usurpation page but there's apparently one user named this on the Japanese Wikipedia with no edits. Not expecting the user to return, either, as their registration date was 2 years ago.
On hold till 5 September (pending user reaction). --Steinsplitter (talk) 13:42, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
@Steinsplitter: Sorry to bother you, but I was wondering how the account could have been attached in 2013, but the welcome message on their talk page is from 2007. Dakarias (talk) 08:57, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
The account was indeed registered in March 2007, 8 years ago. Global accounts were at that time still in an early phase, and it wasn't until 2013 that all single accounts were globalised. Savhñ 09:17, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
Any updates on the status? Dakarias (talk) 06:36, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
Reason: I have an old name for my account with the user name Ahmadnisar in 2007. Later I asked the bureaucrat in Telugu wiki to change it to అహ్మద్ నిసార్ in 2009. He changed it but my old account (Ahmadnisar) edits in Urdu wiki, which were more than 5000, not counted. The date of registration is also showing 2009 instead of 2007. Please merge this account with my new account. I want to go with the new name Ahmed Nisar. Regards.
Do you want your account అహ్మద్ నిసార్ to be renamed to Ahmed Nisar and then Ahmadnisar@urwiki to be renamed to Ahmed_Nisar@urwiki ? Ruslik (talk) 18:57, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
ٰIn fact Ahmadnisar was the name of the same account registered in 2007. In that period there was no global account. When Ahmadnisar was changed into అహ్మద్ నిసార్, Ahmadnisar remained idle. I want అహ్మద్ నిసార్ and Ahmadnisar to be renamed into one account Ahmed Nisar. And the edits of Ahmadnisar may also be merged into current account. Ahmed Nisar (talk) 21:48, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
Please, log in into Ahmadnisar account and post a message here to confirm that you own it. Ruslik (talk) 20:11, 10 September 2015 (UTC)
Sure Ruslik, here it is. The amazing thing regarding the date of registration. Each wiki showing a different dates. Here is a link This is Telugu Wiki account's preference page which shows the date of registration as 2007. And even in my Telugu wiki user page, I had put a babel or a template of duration of my account. Any how, those days there was no global account system, this created the present situation. Thanks. Ahmadnisar (talk) 05:25, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
Partially Done. I renamed అహ్మద్ నిసార్ to Ahmed Nisar. The merge with Ahmadnisar will need to wait the merge tool as indicated at the beginning of this section. Ruslik (talk) 10:58, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
Reason: Emk is my primary account in non-English Wikipedia. When I took the account, global account was not present yet, so I couldn't take Emk on enwp. I used Emk (ja) on enwp. Now SUL has been finalized and a new Emk account is automatically created, but I would not like to lost my previous history of edits and logs on enwp. Please usurp Emk on enwp. Currently Emk has no edits and logs at all.
Reason: For reference. I have usurped per request at eswiki the username Autusgo and moved it to Autusgo (usurped), then Supernova~eswiki to Autusgo to allow the user to fininalisate his SUL. Autusgo is now a fully unified account. —MarcoAurelio 07:03, 10 September 2015 (UTC)
Do you understand, and agree, that using your real name may expose you to harassment or other kind of personal attacks? Best regards, —MarcoAurelio 09:38, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
Excuse me, I had made a funny mistake. "ساقی" is not my real name. but, it is common٫ and commendable in Persian. "فخر جهان" is not a name and has no meaning. --فخر جهان (talk) 10:36, 14 August 2015 (UTC)
According to this, ساقی is not registered But if it is registered, because of this user doesn't have any edit on Wikipedia, will you usurp the account and give it to me? --فخر جهان (talk) 09:20, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
@فخر جهان: Just to let you know what's going on, Steinsplitter has notified the user on their talk page at fa.wikipedia.org. And the user is registered, just not on Meta-Wiki, you can find the user here. —Skyllfully (talk | contribs) 04:09, 31 August 2015 (UTC)
I notified it too, but in Persian. If this user don't want this username, please usurp it. best regards--فخر جهان (talk) 17:03, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
Reason: This is usurpation request, the target account does not belong to me. I was redirected from Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations. I tried to register "Sheriff" before i registered "SheriffIsInTown" which is a long time before current "Sheriff" was registered but somehow i could not register at that time. The target account does not have much contributions on English Wikipedia, i will like to request that we assign target user a name which could be translation of "Sheriff" in the language in which target user is making significant contributions and assign "Sheriff" to me.
Reason: Even though my images are all public domain some people "out there" prefer to provide authorship information. My current nick is a bit silly for that. Also, as my main contribution on commons is correction of invertebrate identifications, it helps to do this under my real name so people have some reference of who is talking. Problem 1: The requested username is currently in use only on it.wikipedia with some historic bogus edits and on that wiki it is blocked. Either don't give me Arp on it or transfer that account to me (this old stuff isn't mine) Problem 2: If at all. Ever since the global username change thingy my account on nl.wikipedia (P4b) has been disconnected and a new account (Pudding4brins) has been created. That's fine with me as I do not intend to do any more (serious) editing on nl - if I do, it's okay for this to be under my real name from now on so I'm proposing to keep the P4b account for historical reference and move on to the new account "Pudding4brains", hereby being requested to be changed to "Arp". I understand this could be regarded as sock puppeting, but frankly I couldn't care less as I'm totally done "discussing" things on wikipedia projects and will not take part in any, voting or other regulatory nonsense.
Can you explain better what is your problem with nlwiki. I am unable to understand anything from the text above. Ruslik (talk) 10:00, 14 September 2015 (UTC)
My account on nl used to be named Pudding4brains, but I had that changed to P4b many years ago because I was doing a lot of stuff with templates/pages in my user space and the shorthand made the writing of links easier (shorter). After the introduction of global names (a year ago or so?) I now "have" two accounts on nl, because a new account Pudding4brains was created based on my Pudding4brains accounts on Commons, de, en, fr etc.: My "old" account P4b (which used to be Pudding4brains originally) plus a "new" account Pudding4brains created automagically.
I'll be mostly working on commons, where my account name has always been Pudding4brains. At the very least, I would like this name (on Commons) to be changed to Arp. But if at all possible, it would probably be good to change the name Pudding4brains to Arp globally. But there is the problem with the user "Arp" on it.wikipedia.
Also, if Pudding4brains is renamed to Arp globally, this means that my automagically created account on nl will also be renamed to Arp, I suppose. So, in that case I would still have two accounts on nl (P4b and Arp). I do not intend to really use either account on nl anymore, so I'm not bothered at all by this situation (couldn't care less), but I thought you might want to be informed about that.
I think I can rename your Pudding4brains global account to Arp. I can also rename your P4b account on nlwiki to Arp (the current Pudding4brains@nlwiki account will be renamed into something else). If want this, please, login as P4b and post a message here confirming that your own P4b account. Ruslik (talk) 19:59, 15 September 2015 (UTC)
Hi Ruslik, Thank you for all your efforts. This goes to "prove" ownership of P4b ==> P4b (talk) 21:14, 15 September 2015 (UTC)
However, personally I would probably prefer if you could just do a global rename on Pudding4brains => Arp. I don't "need" the P4b account on nl if I can edit there with the new Arp account. The P4b account has a lot of historic linking to self that would probably require endless editing to change /P4b/ into /Arp/ on many, many pages. If it is a huge problem that I would have two accounts on nl.wp (can't really see how, as this already is the current situation) I could live with the two being merged, but it is not my main request. Cheers, Arp 21:13, 15 September 2015 (UTC)
Done I renamed Pudding4brains to Arp. Ruslik (talk) 18:52, 16 September 2015 (UTC)
Excellent - thank you very much Ruslik! Cheers, Arp (talk) 07:56, 17 September 2015 (UTC)
Reason: Muhraz is my account when I first contributed to Wikipedia in 2008, and I've made several edits at mswiki and idwiki using that account. But for practical reasons, I abandoned it (and totally forgot the password) and registered this SpartacksCompatriot account on 2011, which had admin status in idwiki and minwiki. After several years, I realized that my current username comprised of something which I no longer affiliated with, so now I wish to request an usurpation and made Muhraz as my global account name. Thank you. SpartacksCompatriot (talk) 03:50, 19 September 2015 (UTC)
Did you have an e-mail address attached to the Muhraz account? Ruslik (talk) 17:13, 20 September 2015 (UTC)
I'm unsure whether the e-mail address is previously used for that account, but I do have it now. SpartacksCompatriot (talk) 17:33, 20 September 2015 (UTC)
Have tried to reset the password? Ruslik (talk) 17:49, 20 September 2015 (UTC)
Yes, but none of the password reset e-mail delivered. Means that the e-mail isn't the one I have now, unfortunately. SpartacksCompatriot (talk) 17:56, 20 September 2015 (UTC)
You disclosed your name and birthdate under the Muhraz account. Would you feel comfortable emailing a copy of your license to us so that we could verify SpartacksCompatriot = Muhraz? MBisanztalk 22:39, 20 September 2015 (UTC)
I cannot recall disclosing my name and birthdate for any of my Wikipedia account. Is there any other way to verify? SpartacksCompatriot (talk) 04:03, 21 September 2015 (UTC) (Submitted... SpartacksCompatriot (talk) 05:26, 21 September 2015 (UTC))
Reason: I would like to use my real name (on all Wikimedia projects) since I am working with external organisations (currently UNESCO), the user I wish to usurp has not made an edit for 8 years and in total made 2 edits of less than 300 characters to one article. The target username has been notified of this usurpation request. Note: I have also made this request at Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations as I'm unsure which page is correct.
Reason: i made that account 6 years ago and forgot the password, i probably used an email address i no longer own and thus cannot recover its pass. I'm known by this name on freenode and other networks.
Unfortunately there is nothing that we can do if you cannot show that you are the account holder. I would suggest that you simply claim the new name that you wish to have and to edit. — billinghurstsDrewth 13:41, 24 September 2015 (UTC)
I renamed Mr_Grifo@enwiki to Grifo@enwiki. Please, login as Grifo~commonswiki and confirm that you own it. Ruslik (talk) 20:18, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
Never known I could actually login with this account, but here goes.Grifo~commonswiki (talk) 12:33, 4 September 2015 (UTC)
Currently it is no possible to merge local accounts. So, you should choose which account you want at Grifo@commonswiki: the current one or Grifo~commonswiki@commonswiki. Ruslik (talk) 20:32, 4 September 2015 (UTC)
No new replys here after some weeks. Closing as not done then. --Steinsplitter (talk) 17:10, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
Reason: I get often addressed to change the nick, since I use Tommes in my signature and prefer to be mentioned as Tommes. The nick is used. 6 edits in 2 days in 2005. I am sure, the user is not interested in editing with the old username after 10 years. Anyway he doesn't react to the disk, maybe he has no access to it at all. I have some thousand edits and would really beg to change to this username. I suggest, to change the old acccount to Tommes_(2005) or Tommes_Schmalkalden (The name of the article concerning the 6 edits) and make this account available for me. TY --Roter Frosch (talk) 17:10, 16 September 2015 (UTC)
On hold till 30 September 2015. Ruslik (talk) 20:45, 17 September 2015 (UTC)
No oppose. Done. There are still some unattached edits, this should be solved in the next hours. --Steinsplitter (talk) 06:43, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
I thank you so much, even since I didn't believe one will make it happen. It came true, an era is over ;) Hugs. just for the record: former user is now spelled as Tommes~dewiki --Tommes (talk) 07:11, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
@K6ka: Are you unable to usurp it? It seems to be blocked on en.wikiquote and hasn't edited for more than 6 years now. Just wondering. TheChampionMan1234talken-wiki 02:21, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
There is no official usurpation policy as of this writing, although a proposed document is available at Requests for comment/Usurpation policy (I don't cite it as policy, because it technically isn't policy just yet). According to that document, "Champion" might not be a suitable target for usurpation because they created a page that was not blatant vandalism, and was not reverted or deleted. (This is from someone who has never usurped a user account in his life, other global renamers are welcome to comment) --I am k6kaTalk to me!See what I have done 02:26, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
The account is owned by @Kalki: (per block summary) which is active and sysop on en.wikiquote. If he agrees you can have this name. --Steinsplitter (talk) 10:15, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
I have no objections to this name being usurped. Complicated issues involving many false assumptions and assertions on the parts of others arose which eventually prevented me from using it in such innocently instructive manners as I had intended, and I had agreed not to use my alternate accounts, so I wish whoever can use it well will use it well. ~ Kalki (talk) 16:58, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
Done Owner agreed that the account can be usurped. --Steinsplitter (talk) 17:04, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
