Global rollback for Muhraz

Not ending before 4 October 2015 17:07 UTC

I'm planning to use this rollbacker rights to patrol several small Nusantara Wikipedias (su, map-bms, bjn, bug, ace) as well as other sister projects (e.g. Indonesian Wikiquote, which I held temporary adminship before). Some of these wikis are simply inactive or even abandoned and prone to cross-wiki vandalism (e.g. this case), so I'm looking forward to contribute more to fight vandalism. Thank you. Muhraz (talk) 17:07, 29 September 2015 (UTC)

    • Yes, previously my cvn efforts are perhaps concentrated at several wikis only (at id, where we had regular vandal attacks), but recently I've also done it globally and began to patrol via cvn-sw (special credit to Bonaditya for that). Muhraz (talk) 05:17, 30 September 2015 (UTC)

Not done, no clear consensus. Although there is no doubt in user's trustworthiness or language skills, there seems to be lack of cross wiki activity/reverts required to grant this permission. Please feel free to re apply later when you gain more experience, Thanks--Shanmugamp7 (talk) 14:56, 7 October 2015 (UTC)

Global sysop for Holder

Not ending before 29 October 2015 05:27 UTC
Hi. I'm active on small wikipedias since more than ten years. I'm sysop and bureaucrat on als:wp (my home wiki), sysop on pfl:wp and ksh:wp, and global rollbacker. I'm requesting the global sysop flag for improving my support for other small wikis. Thanks and best regards. --Holder (talk) 05:27, 15 October 2015 (UTC)

      • @Taketa: With promotion to global sysop it is common to leave the global rollback rights... I know we remove other rights when we promote people to steward, but with global sysop it's different. Mostly because global sysop is subject to an inactivity policy, while global rollback is not. Could you please re-add the global rollback rights again? Thanks.   (PS. I'll subscribe him to the global sysop mailing list; I've already received a subscription notice.) Trijnsteltalk 21:01, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
I corrected that shortly after adding them, as global rollback is not superfluous to global sysop, the former being fully global and the latter being limited to the wikiset. Savhñ 21:31, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
Hi both, I see Savh has added it. I will keep this in mind for future cases. All the best, Taketa (talk) 21:32, 29 October 2015 (UTC)

Global rename for Samtar

Not ending before 7 October 2015 02:12 UTC

I would like to request global renamer rights to assist users I often come across at OTRS who have created (policy violating) usernames for their companies but actually wish to stick around and contribute. I believe I should be granted this right as I am a 7 year Wikipedia editor, am trusted, will always follow guidelines/checklists and will always ask if unsure. Thank you Samtar (talk) 02:12, 23 September 2015 (UTC)

  • I was looking last week end for new global renamers, especially in less common languages, but help is always welcome and I guess another en>3 is not bad per se. Firstly, do you speak any other language? Secondly, I just don't understand how you "come across at OTRS", because in Special:CentralAuth you are not listed as an OTRS volunteer. Is it a bug? I am asking that because you only have 3000 edits, and without other activities I am not sure if they are sufficient to build up enough expertise in the field of "user-related issues".-Alexmar983 (talk) 23:44, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
I can confirm this user has access to OTRS. He only has access to info-en queue. Only people who have access to permissions will have the OTRS member global flag. Jianhui67 talkcontribs 03:49, 28 September 2015 (UTC)
ok. But it still not a lot of experience. It would be different if he spoke some "rare" or "missing" language, but he is en-N... In additon to that I don't see other GRs complaining for the workload, so I   Oppose for the moment. If you are doing it to be more involved, especially at a crosswiki level, keep going... there will be other flags, don't worry.--Alexmar983 (talk) 16:48, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
  •   Not now With ~3000 edits (mainly on enwiki) you are imho not experienced enough xwiki. --Steinsplitter (talk) 23:49, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
  • I don't mind non-admin/crat candidates, but you have too little experience both on enwiki and cross-wiki, and no experience that I can see with the renaming process (such as clerking requests, responding to username issues, etc). Oppose for now. Ajraddatz (talk) 00:06, 28 September 2015 (UTC)
  •   Oppose I have doubt to this user, 3000 global edits and most of them came from English Wikipedia doesn't promote the user understanding of the need of crosswiki experiences like rename on different language. Other than that this user don't have any experience on rename process such as becoming a clerk (this will allow other user giving you a positive outlook despite not having a crosswiki experience), third I don't think there are so much relation between OTRS access and rename, usually only usurping request from time to time need to ask identities of the owner of the account by using OTRS. I have doubt that this user actually understand the rename process.--AldNonymousBicara? 06:36, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
  •   Oppose Not enough contributions to the renaming process itself. Many administrators on enwiki are involved in unblocking users that have requested an unblock in order to request a username change. However, they know very little of the renaming process itself and thus wouldn't make for a good global renamer. I think the same goes for here as well. I got my start in the renaming process by clerking w:en:WP:CHUS, and even though I was never a bureaucrat (back when crats were the only ones who could rename users), clerking got me the experience I needed. --I am k6ka Talk to me! Global rename for VegasCasinoKid

Global-interface-editor for LNDDYL

(Sorry for posting in Chinese Traditional:)

我是中文維基人(Chinese Wikipedian),我想申請介面編輯人員(interface editor),對所有中文wiki(all Chinese wikis)的所有中文介面譯文(all Chinese interface translations)好好地大修一下。我有參與TWN(translatewiki)的經歷,所以我對介面翻譯很有了解。

  •   Oppose Kinda inappropriate, on the link that were given you want to overhaul the mess on Mediawiki Namespace on zh.wikipedia, this can be solved by asking local admin permissions (ask for the Admin rights), if those user don't give you that trust why would you want to be given even bigger trust to held a global rights that can affect other wikis that unrelated to your request?--AldNonymousBicara? 06:44, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
Translations of interface messages are done on TWN, and unrelated to this userright. No, not right venue. — regards, Revi 22:46, 30 September 2015 (UTC)

Global--autoconfirmed for CFCF

I'm active on many wikis as part of the Medical Translation Project, and beyond creating translations, cleanup, fixing templates and installing modules I also patrol articles I've worked on for vandalism. I've been having issues on Wikis where I am not autoconfirmed and would like this to avoid issues like this when installing modules and to avoid having to enter captchas all the time. I don't need global rollback right now, so I thought it would be more useful to apply for global-autoconfirmed , thanks, --CFCF (talk) 12:37, 21 September 2015 (UTC)

There was once a tool to create a local account for you on every wiki. I can't find it right now, but it should solve the problem, since after 4 days you'll have an autoconfirmed account everywhere. --MF-W 18:20, 21 September 2015 (UTC)
