Global rollback for Frigotoni

Not to be closed before 13:37, 4 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi everybody. As I'm active on #cvn-swconnect almost every day (maybe even more than the last time), I would ask for Global Rollback again. First, I have already rollback privileges on pt.wikipedia (contribs), es.wikipedia (contribs), en.wikipedia (contribs), simple.wikipedia (contribs) and on others small projects (e.g. it.wiktionary, it.wikibooks and simple.wiktionary).
Anyway now, I am a rollbacker (verify - contribs) on my Home Wiki, it.wikipedia (compared to the last time), with more 12.000 edits of patrolling; I believe that I’m active and experienced enough. Perhaps rollback is no big deal, but I would use it only in obvious vandalism cases (on the other hand I always do it also in local projects, on .it as well as .en, .es, .pt ecc.). I’m used to undoing vandalism/spam link and reporting vandalisms here too. Therefore, I want to do just another attempt now, because I think that it could help me. If it helps me on projects where I have already the tool, maybe it can help me also in small projects by means of SWMT, respecting policies. Anyhow, I’ll respect community’s decision. Yours sincerely,--Frigotoni ...i'm here; 13:37, 29 November 2011 (UTC)

  • After quickly looking through your contributions, a slight error caught my eye. This edit was fine; if you translate it, die means the, and is better for the article that not having it there. There are a few examples of these through your global contribs, but I'm not going to oppose by it. I would recommend that you either use Google Chrome and its auto-translation feature, or the Google toolbar for another browser that can translate pages for you. That will help reduce those small, but understandable mistakes. That being said, support. Ajraddatz (Talk) 14:50, 29 November 2011 (UTC)
Derp on my part, you correctly fixed that case of vandalism. No concerns, and thanks for your work :-) Ajraddatz (Talk) 14:52, 29 November 2011 (UTC)
Sincerly, I didn't use Google Translate in that case, but I was sure that if it wasn't a vandalism, then it would be a test. So I was sure in that case.--Frigotoni ...i'm here; 15:09, 29 November 2011 (UTC)
  • It would be nice if every time you wouldn't forget to mention your antics. Full disclosure. --Brownout(msg) 17:25, 29 November 2011 (UTC)
If I used the tool incorrectly, I would agree with you, but this is not happened. Besides your antics dated back 1 year ago.--Frigotoni ...i'm here; 17:33, 29 November 2011 (UTC)
    So let's hide them. That's a good reasoning. --Brownout(msg) 17:39, 29 November 2011 (UTC)
Feel free to think as you want... Why we don't talk about what I'm doing, instead what I did?--Frigotoni ...i'm here; 17:44, 29 November 2011 (UTC)
I'd say: let's talk about what have you done, what are doing and what you might possibly do, not only about the last two months, shall we?
In the past year you went around every possibile project asking for new bits; now you're here asking for GR, failing to mention your recent failed request, it doesn't help me believing you're a reformed user. --Brownout(msg) 18:00, 29 November 2011 (UTC)

Hi! After my last request I was told to gain a bit more experience and to come back after about a month, so I'm here again ;) GR would be very useful for me to fight vandalism and spam on small wikis. Regards --Iste () 16:39, 5 December 2011 (UTC)

Neutral Sorry to say, but there hasn't changed much since your first and second request. You haven't done much more (besides your homewiki). Trijnstel 17:33, 5 December 2011 (UTC)
This request is really close after the last one too... maybe wait a few months or so before requesting it again. Ajraddatz (Talk) 17:34, 5 December 2011 (UTC)
But why am I requested to come back after one month by two users then? Regards --Iste () 17:36, 5 December 2011 (UTC)
We recommended you to come back after a month, but mostly after gaining more experience, which you didn't. Trijnstel 17:38, 5 December 2011 (UTC)

Global sysop for Tegel

Not to be closed before 19:57, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi. I'm here today because I would like to apply for Global Sysop access. Since vandal fighting and monitoring small wikis is my main contribution I think that the tool would be useful both to me and other users that keeps an eye on the small wikis. I can often be found on cvn-sw and wikimedia-stewards. I have been part of the Small Wiki Monitoring Team for 9 month and Global Rollback for 4 month. My admin experience is mainly from where I have been an admin for almost 2.5 years, bureaucrat for one year and admin for 2 month here on Meta. Statistics from during my time as Administrator. I have read thru the Global Sysop policy so i knew when I could ask a GS for help so I know the scope and the limitations of the roll. And now when the questions start comming on "why don't you apply for GS?" I thought it might be a good idea to do so. -- Tegel (Talk) 19:57, 19 November 2011 (UTC)

Global sysop for Hosiryuhosi

Hi, I'm Hosiryuhosi. I'm active in SWMT and Japanese Projects. And I have a global rollback flag, and sysop flag in jawp. I request global sysop flag. When vandalism appears to a small Japanese project, the block of local sysop is slow. In that case, I request the block of vandalism from stewards or global sysops. However, case and it which are not blocked may be slow. Meanwhile, vandalism continues, and many pages are damaged. If I have global sysop right, I will think that the block to them can be performed quickly. In addition, in wikis in SWMT, I think that I can reduce damage. Thanks.--Hosiryuhosi 02:08, 15 December 2011 (UTC)

Comment Global sysops are only able to act on projects that opted-in to GS, furthermore they entitled to act only if there are no local admins available or those local admins are inactive! a×pdeHello! 12:41, 15 December 2011 (UTC)

True, and only the Japanese Wikipedia is opted-out for global sysops - all other Japanese projects are available for them. Trijnstel 13:34, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
yes, I know it. but on the Japanese small project, the activity time of majority of local sysops is the same. If it was not activity time of local sysops, block to vandalism becomes suddenly slow. Furthermore, there is multiple cross-wiki vandalism / LTA in the Japanese project. They repeat much vandalism in a short time. --Hosiryuhosi 15:13, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
  •   Support This user is trusted on a large wiki as a sysop and has been using their global rollback flag well. While their main interest would obviously be centered around the Japanese language small wikis I see no issue with that at all. Whilst they could ask for local sysop on the small ja wikis, given the number of active users it'd be temp rights with them needing to re-ask each year or so. Given the activity I see with GR under the guise of SWMT membership I think that global sysop makes a great deal more sense. fr33kman 15:56, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
  •   Comment Do you plan to use your tools only on japanese projects, or to use them to fight against vandalism on every GS projects ? -- Quentinv57 (talk) 16:26, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
I use them to fight against vandalism on every GS projects. (But I may use it mainly in small japanese projects) --Hosiryuhosi 19:32, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
Ok, so I will support this request too. You are active, using IRC and knowing about crosswiki issues, and that's people like that we need as Global Sysops. New wiki importer for MF-Warburg

Hi, I'm a sysop and bureaucrat on Incubator and as such, regularly participate in importing test projects from Incubator (sometimes also Beta Wikiversity and Old Wikisource) to new wikis. You can admire the list of these my misdeeds here. Recently, when the new wiki importer group was still discussed but already created for testing purposes, I requested it in order to import Northern Sotho Wikipedia, that's why I already/still have this flag, in case you wonder. • Indeed it's only for new wikis (which is 0 to maximum a few), but I don't know if we are allowed to just "transfer" these discussions to incubator or whether we need to propose that here at Meta first (and it seems some people are sensitive to the need for such bureaucracy). I request global IP block exemption because I have edited en-wiki for 6 years and never been blocked, yet I am currently unable to edit due to Vituzzu blocking my IP address / range (in hidden text). The address/range belongs to Smartfren wireless modems, which serves hundreds if not thousands. As I am in the middle of an expansion, and quite often busy on-wiki, an exemption would be appreciated. Thanks, --Crisco 1492 00:08, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

Global IP block exempt for Makecat

I come from PRC, so I often have to use proxy to visit wikipedia. However, the proxy which I often use is globally blocked so I apply for global IP block exemption to edit wikipedia normally. I have made over 7,000 edits in Chinese wikipedia and about 300 edits in English wikipedia with no block record. Thanks, --Makecat 11:17, 4 December 2011 (UTC)
