Long-term, cross-wiki abuse. I think some of the individual addresses in the range have been globally blocked after disruption on enwp, enwn, and other wikis. This has been going on for several years all over the place (there's abuse on Commons, for example, dating back to 2011). A long-term global block would seem to be in order (see also, which was globally blocked yesterday). HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 12:26, 13 March 2015 (UTC)

@HJ Mitchell: globally blocked for 6 months the /22. There's already a history of continued abuse and global blocks, and indeed looks problematic. -- M\A 15:51, 13 March 2015 (UTC)

* Apparently I have been blocked by billinghurst for "Long-term abuse." I can't imagine what kind of "abuse" this refers to... I have been trying to complete a page on Japanese poet and scholar Mizuta, Noriko; I was trying to follow up on my reviewer's critiques that I needed to better document my sources. When I went to "edit" to add ISBNs for her books, I discovered I'd been blocked. Was there some mistake perhaps?

Would it be possible to block this IP globally, please? It's spreading hoaxes about phones (“LG” Nexus 7, “Nexus 6 Plus”, “Nexus 8”, Galaxy “S7”…) and phone OS (Android 6.0 “Milkshake”, CyanogenMod “13”…) as well as rumors (iOS “9”), but not identified as such, for more than one month, now, and everyday since the 23rd of May. Impacted wikis include dewiki, enwiki, eswiki, frwiki, hiwiki, idwiki, itwiki, jawiki, kowiki, nlwiki, ptwiki, ruwiki, svwiki, trwiki, ukwiki and zhwiki (at least). Some of its edits are not displayed on guc because the articles were deleted. I think a one month block would be fine as there are no other edits with this IP (from the en:Pelita_Harapan_University).

Global block for User: and User:

Status:    Done

Long term transwiki vandalisms on Bruce Lee-related pages, block evasion of Charliewolf79 and sockpuppets (see :en:SPI/Charliewolf79). After this report, done by me 2 weeks ago (15 March 2015), the user (and his sp) was globally banned by Ajraddatz. A week later he started again (same way), as anon IP, on Commons. After this 2nd report (20 March 2015) he was blocked over there for a month. The problem, now, is that the IP continues as if nothing had happened. Just to make some examples, after the deletion of his Commons' file, and the de-link by Commons Delinker, he simply added back the link and started his usual edit wars: on French WP, German WP, on Spanish WP he re-created that deleted file in this imaginative way, on the incubator (using this page, created by him, as a personal affair), on Chinese WP (note the wiki links to his incubator's page), on Yue Chinese WP (where he was blocked one week ago), on English Wikiquote (in which he created this page that was a redirect), English Wikipedia and so on (following, for example, the CentralAuth of Returnnew, is possible to discover other eventual actions by the IP). As you can see the vandalism action is viral and unstoppable despite any warning, local blocks, explainations about basic WP concepts as collaboration, copyright, netiquette, POV, trolling, threats etc. By now, Eswiki has this page es:The Game of Death (created by the user), that seems to be a dupe of es:Game of Death. The same on Itwiki with it:The Game of Death (by him) and it:L'ultimo combattimento di Chen (Game of Death). As I said on my Commons' report, the user don't understand or IMHO won't to understand the basis of a collaborative encyclopedia: translating this deleted message on Commons (per trolling) for the user a global ban is a sort of spite between buddies who get angry. The script is always the same: dramatic excuses (as every time after a block or report) with oaths to repair, the wish to start again in the same way, and an amount of lies. As for this AIV report on Itwiki, he used WP:BRO, but on his talks on Commons and Enwiki, he confirmed that he was Charliewolf, Returnnew, Unsulupilus and other SP (he confirmed it here also). Well, apart this massive crosswiki vandalisms, I would remark also a (IMHO) shameful conduct, mixed of personal attacks, various offences, harassment, lies and lies to users who tried in good faith to help and guide him, persistent personal attacks and threats to an users (details on my Commons' report link, above), also after the global ban. Translating some of his talks, deliria as how dare you idiots, I put upside-down Wikipedia , I contact personally Wikipedia (?), further clarify the situation. That's simply cyberbullying, and the intent to impose his way of interpreting Wikimedia, reiterating the same behavior despite any warning, revert, or block, on a dozen of WM Projects. This is IMHO an unacceptable usage of Wikimedia, that continues still today (literally). To end: I request a very long global ban (5 years or more) for both IPs. I'm quite sure they are static and, btw, I've no doubts that the user is mocking the porject. Sorry for the length of my report, and thanks for attention. Thanks also to GorillaWarfare that indicated me this page on meta. --Dэя-Бøяg 23:15, 27 March 2015 (UTC)

Just a note: this pair of edits, by (enwiki), after this edits by, are a bit suspect. Is it possible to control with CU? Thanks again --Dэя-Бøяg 23:15, 27 March 2015 (UTC)

I have blocked the IP addresses, though not sure that it will be that useful as it looks that it is a dynamic IP address, though just held for an extended period. It may be something that needs to be looked to be better managed by abuse filters and stuff. If we are exploring other means then it belongs on a page like vandalism reports.  — billinghurst sDrewth 04:39, 28 March 2015 (UTC)

IP address was blocked for five years starting in 2012 for unknown reasons, I have only had this IP address for three months. Would like to create an account -- 16:57, 13 February 2015 (UTC)

The IP range is problematic due to spambots (looking at what is in place). I have softened the block to allow logged in users to be able to edit, though do not think that removing it is best for spam management. Please create an account from outside of the IP range at Special:CreateAccount, then you should be able to edit with the change that I put into place. If you cannot create an account from outside the IP range, then we can look to temporarily suspending the block while you create your account.  — billinghurst sDrewth 14:58, 14 February 2015 (UTC)

Hello, below is the message I received when I tried to edit a wiki article. I had no idea my PC was using "open proxies", and had to read up to find out what they were! Is there a setting in Mozilla whereby I can prevent an open proxy on my PC? The only option I can see is "No proxy". Would this prevent an open proxy from being used on my home PC? Also, is the "open proxy" the only reason I have been blocked? And what is a "colo"? Your IP address has been blocked on all wikis. Hi. Your block is part of a range block ( to the network because of abuse by other users. If you have already an account, you can ask for the ip-block-exempt permission temporary so it'll let you edit. If you don't have an account, the other solution would be to remove the global block, for which Vituzzu should be consulted as he did place the block. Best regards. -- M\A 19:19, 1 March 2015 (UTC)

Look, I understand that I was being disruptive on only one wikimedia project. There was no other disruptions on other wikimedia projects that I was in. Not blocked on other wikimedia projects, just enwikipedia. But that was a year ago. Since late January of 2014, I took a break from all of Wikimedia. Having more than one user account I now know is bad, but I did learn from being blocked from and not being able to edit on there. Now I understand that cross-wiki abuse is when a user is disruptive on other wikis besides the one he/she was blocked on in the first place. I must say that my edits on other wikis besides enwikipedia weren't disruptive. Those contributions were all clean on all wikis except for I have to say that because it wasn't right to lock accounts for cross-wiki abuse and I didn't troll or vandalize on any other wikis other than the Wikipedia in English. Thanks and have a good day. 01:45, 25 February 2015 (UTC)

@Anna Frodesiak: The only advice to give is that wikis look after their own deletions, so they should be annotated where they are found. I just pasted {{delete|xwiki spam}} to the hiWP page, and was able to deal with commons. That said, it is not your responsibility either, it is each wikis. Otherwise maybe Vandalism reports noting where you saw the abuse, or just reporting here, and adding the commentary that you did, though it is then about hoping that someone deals with it.  — billinghurst sDrewth 08:50, 1 March 2015 (UTC)

Your original account was subjected to multiple blocks as well as an account lock for persistent cross-wiki distruption. You created a new account to evade those blocks and the lock. The edits on this account are no better than they were on the previous one. You've been advised by multiple users on multiple wikis to modify your actions, including on this wiki not too long ago. In response, you've repeated the actions that were reverted and declined the advice. I do not see the change in behavior and maturity that I mentioned was needed in your other unlock request. I also note that if you are locked or blocked, you may not edit anonymously. That would be evading the block/lock and is not acceptable. To state that you will edit anonymously if not unlocked as the reason for why your account should be unlocked only reinforces the case that you are not here to edit constructively. Please read the Terms of Use, which is linked from the bottom of every page, as it describes the overarching system. Each of the wikis has their own specific set of rules. I would think that the common approach across all wikis is don't arrive and link spam.  — billinghurst sDrewth 22:20, 27 February 2015 (UTC)

Global lock for WhiteWindow

Status:    Done

As shown above (and the diff here: WhiteWindow), WhiteWindow was created to evade a global lock applied to the accounts of William Pina (talk · contribs) and Bigwill91 (talk · contribs). Mike VTalk 03:44, 17 March 2015 (UTC)

A global lock also includes a global ban. Please do not lock my account, or I will edit anonymously. Regards, WhiteWindow(History) Date: 04:15, 17 March 2015 (UTC)
A local CheckUser shows WhiteWindow (talk · contribs) is a   Confirmed sock of Bigwill91 (talk · contribs). They've been blocked locally. Tiptoety talk 05:09, 17 March 2015 (UTC)
It appears that during Tiptoety's check he uncovered an additional account. I am requesting that Pina618 be globally locked as well. Mike VTalk 05:51, 17 March 2015 (UTC)
  • Technically, at least, global locks are not global bans of the user, they are account locks only. If there is no disruption from the new account, it should not be locked solely because of claims or evidence it was the locked user. Block evasion on multiple wikis, by the new account, as shown by actual socking and blocks, would be global disruption. WhiteWindow was making block-evading edits, on commons, enwiki, and here. Definitely lock-eligible.
(Sometimes an account is blocked on sight, per checkuser, with no actual block-evading edits. That was not disruptive editing, and may merely be precautionary. Pina618 has no global edits, and therefore should not be locked. WhiteWindow, if you see this, do not use Pina618 to edit wikis where you are blocked as another account, it may be locked. If you are not locked, and establish a record of good editing, it can then be possible to clear all this up. Try Wikiversity, where you may create educational resources with high freedom, as long as you are not disruptive and there are other wikis needing work. --Abd (talk) 15:59, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
Closed as not progressed and stale requesst.  — billinghurst sDrewth 12:55, 27 March 2015 (UTC)
Done eventually as a it's a clear-cut crosswiki lta, then perfectly fits global lock scope. --Vituzzu (talk) 18:42, 27 March 2015 (UTC)

Global lock for JHistory

Status:    Not done

User:JHistory is the sock puppetry of User:יעל י that is locked globally. She was locked in Hebrew wiki Indefinitely on march 15, 2013 after administrators vote, see here. Her talk page in Hebrew wiki is here. Since she was locked she made a lot of effort to attack wikipedians in wiki and outside. She attacked students that are part of Wikipedia:School and university projects. Last month she register to facebook in a false name Anat Eliahu and with this name she joined facebook page ויקי נשים Wiki Women that is purpose is to help women to start to edit in Hebrew wikipedia. She used it to attacked women that are part of this page. I hope what I told you is enough. I can fill a blog with a stories about her. Thanks --Hanay (talk) 19:10, 23 March 2015 (UTC)

Not done The contributor can be managed by local communities, and is not blocked at Commons where the bulk of the contributions are made. If this is to progress it would seem that a discussion about a global block may be more appropriate rather than trying to manage this as a series of global locks.  — billinghurst sDrewth 12:50, 27 March 2015 (UTC)

Account at English Wikipedia was blocked for addition of ceiling fan vandalism, consistent with banned user David Beals. Per these instructions at administrators' noticeboard, I'm bringing this to the stewards' attention. C.Fred (talk) 00:57, 28 March 2015 (UTC)
