The person behind the IP moves on from one language version to the next. First I blocked on svwp (which three other admins already had done), then the IP was blocked on enwp after a request from me and then the IP was blocked on nnwp (and later increased to three months to match enwp). Now the IP has moved over to plwp. The edits are mostly about movies in Swedish with the content of the articles sometimes in Swedish. The article edits includes lists of actors that are partially correct or completly wrong. So far no communication with the user has resulted in any response on any of the language versions. --GameOn 15:16, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

I'm not sure what you mean by "associated with a hosting company." The IP is associated with a Linode VM, which I have been running for many years now. Global lock for severe continuous cross wiki damage done by sockpuppet abuse

  • Catbot nl (faking to be a bot) no SUL
  • Dendroloo nl sock   Done—sock created to evade a block at nlwiki

  • SZLT lt sock   Not done—made only a few edits mainly in ltwiki
  • Logos lt sock (non-sul) no SUL
  • Savvour lt sock   Not done—made only two edits in ltwiki

Motivation: Long time cross wiki vandalistic disruption of many projects. Repeated mis-use of sockpuppets to do detrimental and wrong legal categorisations and various other often wrong edits re. categories and content. Has been adressed on many wikiversions to stop this behaviour since he makes mistakes galore due to lack of knowledge of the languages but did continue. Blockmessage on nl-wiki with diffs to the various warnings received cross-wiki over the years here. Checkuser on meta here on 20 and 21 jun 2011. Checkusers on nl-wiki: checkuser 1 on 09 jun 2011 - checkuser 2 on 09 jul 2011 - - checkuser 3 on 09 jul 2011. Adressed on his various talk pages and urged to stop on meta but does not wish to do so. Please lock all acounts to prevent further ongoing damage done cross wiki as there is clearly no intention to stop the compulsively driven edit pattern and this harms the projects severely. User was asked to stop repeatedly, give up sockpuppet abuse and clean up his act but does not wish to do so and thus this leaves no other option at hand alas. Sockpuppet abuse came to light after he abused his existing accounts for this on nl-wiki - it seemed to be unrelated "bona fide" users up until recent. Main account still then has access to meta to comment and when promising to stop could be unlocked. MoiraMoira 12:11, 22 July 2011 (UTC)

  • Update: User is active and did only comment on his meta talk page indicating he did not see any problem and intend to continue and does not wish to give up his socks nor stop. On the talk pages of his accounts per country there was no reaction at all. Please deal with my request as the wikimedia projects are harmed by this compulsive vandalism clearly. • Comment A global lock for an account with three edits on one wiki seems a tad unusual. However, it is probably harmless. "Dendroloo" may not be "Dendrolo," and the account behavior does not seem to match what I've seen so far for Brox. However, judging what is going on where I don't know the language is difficult. I do see that MoiraMoira is misrepresenting what Brox has stated on User talk:Brox, and I'm appalled at the threats from MoiraMoira against Brox there, especially [1]. MoiraMoira is strenuously attempting to use Meta process to sanction Brox, attempting to hold his admin account hostage to control his real or imagined -- and minor at worst -- behavior on The cross-wiki disruption here is from MoiraMoira and some possible allies. (Who may merely be concerned by the claims.) --Abd 14:47, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
    • The problem with Brox is that his disruptive behavior can't be recognized very well. Btw: "some possible allies"? What do you want to suggest with that? Trijnstel 18:32, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
      • That is precisely why we don't want to make decisions for the local wikis here. If many wikis are experiencing "disruption," as shown by blocks for local behavior, then we can simplify things with a global lock. It looks to me, though, that this is more of a local dispute or action on, which has the right to make its own decisions, be they wise or foolish. As to what I "want to suggest," exactly what I said, which continues to assume good faith. This requested action has been denied, mostly, and is done, as far as I can see. Let's not stretch this out, okay? --Abd 18:46, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
        • Sure. I agree it's not enough for a global lock yet. But I also see there's something strange going on with Brox. And I just don't like your comments about MoiraMoira. Not because I know her, but because I know she is always willing to help others. Please notice that she offered her help to Brox three years ago on nlwiki. That's all. Trijnstel 19:01, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
          • Cool, as to the global lock. My point. Now tell MoiraMoira in her RfC, where she's simply repeating this request. This is the wrong place. Because of the RfC originating here, linked from here, I need to raise the issue, that's all. It should be resolved elsewhere, and this request should be closed. --Abd 19:46, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

Not done Metawiki does not police other projects. fr33kman 05:00, 12 August 2011 (UTC) Hello I need help with an issue in spanish Wikipedia. A mafia of administrators and some users that are their friends. Well Basically i dunno if this is the propper place for placing this. I am a Blocked user, using another user account, my real user name is Melgarath. I wish plz my requests would be checked by a Steward with a high level of spanish. Basically, though my blocking is ok, a group of administrators and users associated with em have been deleting sections of discussions, of personal discussions. Also from the article "Miguel Servet" ( spanish version of Michael Servetus) As it seems a club of people who know each other and they constantly ask for blocking , erase, etc. (The user craton is diferent, i dont agree with him but I know of accept my blocking could be ok) I dont ask to get unblocked, sincerely i dont care, I just ask to some steward to check what i say in spanish , or if none has acces here if someof you could give him this info. I dodged my Blocking twice, im guilty of that, i dont care to what happens to my user name. But sincerelly the way this people have worked is disgusting. I just ask a clear revision of all, discussions of the article website, and among em. I was merely a new user and i have seen how they are associated for blocking any info they dont like. It is unfair that woudl happen to any other user. ( and better not toalk of how they judge the importance of a reference, for em it is more important a quote from a biografy of 1970, that does not lead to any offitial document, than a notary document of the same decade than the character., anyway that is another thing) Ill paste here in spanish what i ment , better explained. Sorry about my english and thanks for at least reading this. Im tired of fighting for a fair play. But dont let new users suffer as i have been suffering with this.Sorry aagin if this is a lot of info like for posting it here, i duno where else to locate it . Thanks , and good luck.Doppel---( but realy Melgarath)

Y me he saltado el bloqueo 2 veces, acepto mi culpa. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Doppel (talk) 20:09, 29 July 2011

  • Comment. Meta is a coordinating wiki. Where local wikis have active administrators, meta is not any kind of government or appeal agency from the local wikis. Stewards do not make decisions contrary to local authority. This is in no way a dismissal of your complaint, but simply pointing out that meta and stewards can take no action with regard to this. You will need to pursue local process. If the local process is corrupt, there is nothing we can do about it. I'll say this, though: if you tell the people with the local power to block that they are corrupt and biased, a "mafia," what, if they are human beings, would you expect them to do? If you want to make changes at es.wikipedia, you will need to understand the people there and work with them as they are, not as how you imagine they should be.
  • One more suggestion: find a local user who will listen to you and ask that person for advice and help. If nobody will help you, your case is completely hopeless. Give up and do something more useful! If you are thoroughly blocked and don't know how you could contact anyone, ask me, on my Talk page here, I'll assist you in making contact. This is not in any way a validation of your complaint, I'd do this for anyone. Good luck.--Abd 19:01, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

... According to this, he is a Bureaucrat at fr.wikipedia. Ruslik, please be more careful. Ottava Rima (talk) 04:18, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

Comment Actually Ottava, Ruslik0 is correct. Notice the lower case l on the real French crat, and L is the impostor. Regards, fr33kman 04:27, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
That doesn't mean they aren't the same person. This is the proper way to approach the subject. Verify first. Ottava Rima (talk) 04:29, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
No, indeed, I was just talking with Brian about how it could reasonably a doppelganger account, but I can see how Ruslik0 would want to err on the side of caution. I agree more time watching what actually happened would have been wise. fr33kman 04:34, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
Is that policy now to block any similar name and not ask about it? Sigh. If I didn't recognize Popo's name and thought it was odd to see him up for a block, who would have posted? Such things happened on Wikipedia against some people who were just as prominent and it is a black mark against them and quite embarrassing for the user. If it is an impersonator, then he deserves to be locked. But if he isn't then what? Ottava Rima (talk) 04:38, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
I don't know, I've never been faced with a non-obviously vandal/attack (potential) impostor before. I think? It's not something I would have done right away; I'd have spent some period of time with it as a background tab, just watching. But, I can see Ruslik0's action also. fr33kman 05:06, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
The less I say about Ottava Rima the better. Let's say that I investigated this and came to strong personal conclusions before blocking the wv account and requesting lock, and it would be a waste of time to elaborate all my reasons. No, this request was not filed merely because of a similarity in account names. There is no black mark against any user here, an account was locked with two edits total, globally. The user lied about who he was, and that's obvious once one looks. I was concerned that he would use the new account on fr.wikiversity in an attempt to deceive others, specifically to harm the reputation of the real Popo le Chien, and, notice, Ottava was fooled, others might also be. Thanks, Ruslik, I appreciate your prompt action.
Fr33kman, I can understand your position, but I would not have requested the lock if the value of it were not clear. I'm not big on casually locking users, eh?

I confirm it wasn't me - had I for some strange reason decided to create a doppleganger account and seen it blocked, I would have left a note to the admin so as to get it unlocked. No biggie there, I understand the move and confirm the demand for global block. Thanks everyone & thanks for the note, Popo le Chien 07:43, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

I, of course, knew that Popo le Chien is a bureaucrat on frwiki. However I thought that it looked rather strange that he had decided to go to enwikiversity (where he had had no account one edit) to create a doppelganger account. He could do this on frwiki. So, it looked very likely the account was an impostor. Ruslik 09:20, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

Global unlock for Norrin strange

Status:    Not done

Hi. Some time ago, User:Shizhao block me (or my IP, my knowings related to computers are very poor) in the computer where I was working there. The connection was some of Jazztel, but few days later I stopped using it because I changed my place of residence (I change it at least a couple of times per year), so I didn't request the removal of the blockade. Now I'm in vacation period, sometimes I use my own computer and sometimes my dad's one. I had no problems until today, when I found that again I was blocked by Shizhao. So I request the removal of the blockade whem I'm logged in, thanks, --Norrin strange 12:33, 23 July 2011 (UTC)

It appears that you are not blocked on any wiki. Can you please copy and paste the error message you get? I'll also need to know your ip addess. Can you please go to /and you can post it here (but others will be able to see it) so it's best to email with the IP address and we can do a better search. Thanks. BTW this has been placed in the wrong section, I have moved it. fr33kman 01:20, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
